I'm trying to run this low-life old ms-dos program (similar to DBASE III Plus) under WinXP. Running it from windows own dos box I get the following error message:

Microsoft Windows XP [Versión 5.1.2600]
(C) Copyright 1985-2001 Microsoft Corp.

c:\FOXP>FOXPLUS.EXE

error 2009: Not enough space for environment

It works under DOSBOX but as soon as the title screen loads i got kicked out with another error message:

Cannot create program workspace

Any help would be appreciated.

EDIT: After exitting. Several zero bytes files with funny names are in the program directory (temporary files?)
I have also messed with several memory options to no avail.

Apparently, you're not the only one with the problem:

Other than increasing your Environment Space in XP, I've no idea what to do... (no experience with the Fox database...although I did work with DBIII and DB IV).

Note: At least one person still had the fail after changing the settings.

WOHOO!! It's 2 AM in the morning but i got it WORKING at last under WinXP. Funny enough, this post would not belong here anymore, just because the only way of running it is by using VDMSound, even if this isn't a musical app or game.

Well, what i did is to place a FCBS=4 statement in the advanced options of CONFIG.SYS (under VDMSound).

Funny enough, if i put the same FCBS=4 statement under CONFIG.NT file, it serves no purpose, the app isn't running under normal NTVDM dos box.

I better get some sleep. My eyes are burning...

God bless VLAD R. and its amazing VDMSound....
