I'm new here, so hello everyone

First, I use my old AITD CDs, boxed in Trilogie, well I made images of them as I've seen such an advice here.
AITD 1 works quite well, but AITD 3 can't have music or speeches
And in the install dialog I can't choose an fm card, it autodetects none, there is none also for AITD 2 but this one can play music and speeches.

I've tried searching around here nut no luck, even if I've seen I'm not the only one with such a problem, disabling GUS and setting cycles to 3000 but still nothing.

My config is : Win XP, Dosbox 0.74, D-fend reloaded 1.1.0.

Any idea please ?

Ok, moby games tells me it supports Sound Blaster and also CD Audio.

D-fend reloaded should have options for the CD emulation. This should fix the CD Audio issue.

Sound Blaster is enabled by default. You could post your config file here (right click on your game profile) and we can take a look if everything is ok!

Thanks for your quick replies
The images are in bin/cue format, they surely are good as music works for AITD 1&2, and I can play the audio tracks of AITD 3 on a media player

So, here's my conf file :

Coolies!

The Sound Blaster settings look fine to be honest.

However here are some other changes I suggest as "good practice". Make sure you change them through the user interface in D-Fend reloaded.

In short you should get an optimal full screen image and improved sound quality.

I know, sorry about that.

Would love to test these things, but most the games I simply don't have. If there is a demo version maybe, I can have a crack at it.

Availability of games does really tick me off sometimes. E.g. on GOG you can buy Alone in the Dark 4, but none of the other games. Often I hear people talk about an issue with a game and I want to buy it, not just to try and fix the issue, but also because it's a good game and you could have a discussion about it.

But it's really hard to get most of these games...

Yes you are using imgmount but you use it with the -t cdrom switch, try it with -t iso switch

I don't know to change cdrom to iso within d-fend reloaded sorry.
Is it normal that the game installer didn't find any fm card ?

The cuesheet looks OK. You have the same number of audio tracks, but their indexes are about 1 minute later than those in my cuesheet, suggesting your data track is larger... *shrug* probably not important.

Don't worry about the installer saying it doesn't detect an FM card. The game doesn't support any, as you can see the dropdown list doesn't show any options. A slightly lame interface mechanic. However, make sure the "sample card" option is set to "Soundblaster (DMA)".

Try eliminating the frontend from the equation, and run the game directly using default settings in DOSBox. If you still can't get the CD audio after that, I have one more thing to try as a last resort.

Oh well I tried another rip of the cd and now everything seems to work…
I think my cd drive ain't getting any younger, it has already caused problems sometimes, or maybe the cd is scratched.

Anyway, sorry about that and thank you all for your help !

Just out of curiosity ripsaw8080, what was that last resort ?
(I have the French version by the way, which may be why the data track is larger)

I suppose that would explain the difference in track layout. The last thing I was going to suggest is using a freeware DOS program like TRKPLAY; a no-nonsense little command-line program that issues MSCDEX commands to play audio tracks. If it also failed, I would suspect a problem with the image rather than a problem with AITD3.
