I'm having a lot of bugs and such problems with Space Quest 6 and I would really love to complete this game.
Technical specifications: I use a relatively old laptop with Windows 7. I play all DOS games through D-Fend Reloaded (DOSBox with frontend, but you probably know it) and actually I really love it because of the screenshot collecting option... without it I perhaps wouldn't have bothered to play some of the games I have.
If I remember well, I didn't have any issues with the (in)famous ComPost bug, probably because speed is not really an issue when using an emulator (which is anyway quite necessary nowadays - I could still run some DOS games on Windows XP, now not anymore).
For a long time I couldn't pass the "robots" bug (which made the game crash at Stellar's funeral), which is why I don't remember for sure if I had any problems with some of the well-know bugs - I became discouraged and haven't played the game for months, yesterday I finally passed it. (The solution that worked for me is NOT exactly what is said on Sierrahelp - using the exact path of the "Robots" directory in resource.cfg file didn't help, it finally kicked into gear when I changed it to "robot = .\robots".
However, I didn't get far...
First let me return to the beginning because I encounter the same bug there. I can't run the full intro (I think). It crashes right after Roger is degraded and a small message appears:

Alert VMD error -51 -> IMD unknown 1075 ..\vmdcache.cpp(374) […]
Show full quote

Alert
VMD error -51 -> IMD unknown
1075
..\vmdcache.cpp(374)

I get the same message when I try to leave the space station with the spaceship, only the number after "IMD unknown" is now 1450.
I can't find any help about those bugs elsewhere.
Am I missing any files? What can I do about it?
I would really like to complete the game and now a bug stops me for good again...

First of all the ROBOTS path was an example, not an entry to be made verbatim. It assumes that ROBOTS folder is on the CD since the original installer does not copy that folder to the HDD. You were supposed to change the path to what matches your installation.

That said, did you try the new installer? http://sierrahelp.com/Patches-Updates/NewSier … allers.html#SQ6

I made some corrections and hopefully I'll get rid of the bugs I described elsewhere. However, now I've run into the problem described here.
I'm not an IT specialist. I'm not a geek. I'm not a nerd. I'm an average computer user who likes retro games. So: please describe how to change the names in resource.cfg - namely, how to check the paths to put in this file. Note that I don't even understand what the process of disk mounting actually is, I only know it's something that DOSBox needs to do.
Edit 2: my path is not as described in example. Its "disk path" or however to call it is:
c:\Users\Ewa\Gry\Space Quest 6
