Received the ET4000AX ISA card today and the RAM.

I cannot get the ET4000AX ISA card to work and I'm not sure if the EPROMs went corrupt or what and I cannot find my EEPROM removal tool anywhere. I'd use a screwdriver, but I'm too lazy to use one and the chips can break if not careful.

Diamond SpeedSTAR VGA. It has the H-BIOS, L-BIOS, and X-ROM chips, all of them are the same, except for the speed (150ns for the H-BIOS and L-BIOS, 200ns for the X-ROM).

Getting the ROM information at the moment from the chips and will reinsert them into the card. Might've been a loose connection or a bad connection. Also have plenty of 28-pin PDIP sockets, so.

haha, time to slide into the bottomless pit of spending on amiga stuff now... I'm still missing a mouse before I can do anything though ^^
I seem to have a hundred different mice, but not a single Amiga mouse apparently ^^

heeeeeeeeeeeelp!

they got me D:

so.... I needed a mouse, right... so I got five! (or four?)
two commodore tank mice, because... I needed those right? every Amiga owner needs to have at least one of those right? and somehow I am an Amiga owner now. so I got two.
one Commodore 327124-15A mouse originally for A600/A1200 and A4000 if I am not mistaken? fitting, should I ever get one, 🤣 as if (lol?).
one Logitech M-PG14, this one seems nice, with short adapter cable... idk if that is needed for use on Amiga as this mouse is apparently compatible with Atari and Amiga and they got slightly different pinouts right? need to measure that.
and one Genius GM-M-337... not sure about this one, was sold as Amiga mouse and untested, can't find much info about it... need to check if this is actually Amiga compatible, idk, might not actually be one.

two external disk drives, because you need those right?
one of them is supposedly broken, need to check, going to use one for a gotek anyways :3

external power supplies, one "light" and one "heavy" version... wait... why do I need those? the A2000 one is internal.

...

...

oh no

...

what did I do...
whoops... now I got an Amiga 500 after all, my poor wallet.
Rev.6a board and it has one of these: http://amiga.resource.cx/exp/megichip 1MB chipram expansion, a normal 512K ram expansion and a KickROM selector thingy.
I wonder if I can stick the MegiChip in my A2000 with 1MB and get 2MB there? :3c

and just because why not I also got some spares...
only a Rev.5 board but has all chips apart from CPU and a case on top of that. might actually switch the bottom of this with the complete A500 as that one has two holes drilled on the side for the switches, while this one seems to only have one in the top.

You have fallen into the pit..... HAHAHAHAHA. One reason I have resisted getting anything Amiga. My downfall is sound and video cards.... and CPUs though not quite as much.

There was this auction where nobody made a bid and for fun I made a nonsense bid: €30 (minimum opening bid)
The item: a laptop, Compaq SLT286.
Expectation was the seller would cancel the auction because of low bids (which is allowed so no hard feelings)
But the seller contacted me if I liked it shipped or I'd drive over to collect it.

What would you do?
I've got it 😁

Cons: Dallas clock is dead, battery is missing and the keyboard cable is crunchy.

Pros: Besides the cons, it is in mint condition.
Included were there adapter, a serial mouse, mouse pad and the original Compaq bag.

The laptop turns on, takes half an age to test the memory (4,64MB!) and then begs for a diagnostics disk, not booting from hard disk.

Nice one eh?

That's a real beautiful 286 laptop with more than 4MB of RAM ... looks gorgeous!

Today my ASUS CUV4X-CM Medion 2001 with a Pentium 3 1000EB arrived and what can I say? Very nice for an OEM board. The bios even allows cache control and the board is so tiny
which makes it viable for small cases. So far I'm playing around a bit with it, installing Windows 98SE and seeing what it can do.

Since I was running out of functional optical drives, I went shopping on the local classifieds site and got a total of four drives, two of them being NOS and another two in hopefully good condition.

Another purchase was the MS Sidewinder Precision Pro, the very same model I had back in the day and that somehow got lost over the years. NOS as well, bundled with Flight Simulator 2000!

Will post pics once everything arrives.

I bought this laptop on a whim. Its a Compaq Armada 7792DMT. Looks to be in nice coniditon. I believe this model has the Pentium 266MMX Tillamook chip inside. Until the unit arrives i won't know the full spec. I will have to try and track down the CD-ROM for it as just the floppy aint gonna fly.
