Add a cooling fan on there, man. I learnt that the hard way on my V3 2000, and I installed one on my V3 3000 last year. Odd the system has a K6-2/500, but no AGP slot (interesting, though).

SiS530 integrated AGP graphics.

Not sure that this counts... I bought a bunch of floppies "contains DOS software disks and unused disks. Plaster holder included". No idea why I bought it do be honest!

On that note does anyone know what "Paradox" software could be?

Love the old school floppy containers. Paradox is an old database (or DBMS) akin to Access or dBase.

Oh that's a bit boring then 🙁 It also has Word Perfect 5, MS Works 2.0, "Individual's Professor DOS" and "Individual's SmartGuide for DOS" which seemed to come with a book when they were new.

Somewhat newer than my usual stuff:

Wasn't actively looking for another monitor, but when you see an Eizo 19" with PVA panel in good shape for next to nothing at the thrift shop, you grab it - or at least I do. Only 1280x1024, but beautiful colours and a VGA cable so thick as to remind you what good VGA was like.

The rest are a bunch of Noctua and Coolink (ultra) low-noise fans. I love retro computers, but that love doesn't extend to the sound they make. In particular I want to make my ultimate Packard Bell P3 system as near to silent as possible, so one of those 80mm fans is going into the PSU and I'm going to connect the 120mm one to a Zalman bracket to oh so gently blow cool air over a CNPS6000-Cu heatsink on the CPU. As the system runs off an SSD, the only time anyone will hear it is if you stick an optical disk into the drive. No replacement for that yet unfortunately.

Super nice condition! How nice. The urine colored right speaker on the other hand...don't ya just love aging plastics?

Have you checked for a leaking battery yet and what are your plans for the system?

I'll replace the CR2032, add the Mystique 220 and the Awe64, and start looking for a good looking Sony Multiscan 15" 100SF.
Then I'll relive some very special moments playing Full Throttle and Dark Forces and Indiana Jones and re arranging directories in Norton Commander.
Not to mention freeing up as much as possible from those 640K 😁

Miss the Monkey Island days, the Space Quest days, even The Longest Journey days.

Cool. Yep, load high as much as you can in the autoexec. On my Pentium 100 system build I am cleaning up right now I get about 576K free conventional after everything is loaded up in high memory. That's including UniVBE loaded into memory.

Not sure if this counts, but I purchased a new-in-box PCI SATA/IDE controller card for $1.99.

Damnit, now I need a trackball on everything...

It's well-used but cleaned up really nicely. Perfect ball action (optical) and it being PS/2 is handy since it can go on my KVM. Replaced a ball mouse in a spot where I was constantly running it into the side of the desk. Wish it were three button but it'll do.

Also scored some standup DVD racks for my Xbox / PS2 games, a few jazz records, and a graphic novel. Nothing too exciting.

That software is essential for any 1990s computer hardware, my guy. 😎 You might need it if you want to really work with that stuff, I have yet to find lots of floppies with old OSes in them for a good price.

I also think Paradox was some old application based management system.

I bought a V5 5500 today, not a bargain but the low end of what they seem to go for these days. Can’t wait to test it out 😁

Also recently a huge job lot of computers, CRTs and parts I’ve yet to fully test but so far I’ve got:

A huge pile of useful PCI graphics and sound cards - including an immaculate Maxi Gamer 3D Voodoo1!
A big box of working hard drives + PSUs
A working Compaq Deskpro EN
Two working PII desktops
An AMD T-bird 1.4ghz tower
A 486 machine that’s complete but in poor condition and doesn’t boot - looks like it’s been left open in the rain 😒

- P-MMX 200MHZ, PCChips M598LMR, Voodoo
- P-MMX 233MHz, FIC PA2013, S3 ViRGE + Voodoo
- PII 400MHz, MSI MS6119, ATI Rage Pro Turbo + Voodoo2 SLI
- PIII 1400MHz, ECS P6IPAT, Voodoo5 5500
- Toshiba Libretto 110CT, 300MHz, 96MB RAM

Borland Paradox was one of the main relational database software options back then. There was a DOS and WINDOWS version. I think both included PAL language to program, and I wrote a few simple programs for a few companies for inventory control, but mine were DOS only and very basic. Wow....that was a flashback.

Some stuff I've bought over the past couple of months.

Video cards (thanks again to Batyra for the Diamond Edge 3D)

And a couple of motherboards. The 486 is a backup of the same model I already have for DOS stuff, and the ITX board may be my all-in-one in the future for most 90s stuff. I'm wondering if that connector is pc/pci (haven't had a chance to test it yet).

Picked up a couple of DOS/Win9x laptops the other day from the recycler's. Both with some minor issues, but mostly cosmetic not functional. Paid 20$ for these and also one of those older Realistic mini-amps with matching tuner, which also works.

Toshiba Tecra 500 CDT

Pentium 120
32 MB RAM
2MB C&T 65550
Crystal CS4232 with a genuine YMF262
800x600 Active Matrix screen

This one is pretty beat up physically, and the audio jacks are in need of a cleaning. Also haven't had any luck with the PCMCIA card slot. But the core functionality is all there, CDROM works, sound works, screen looks as good as a mid-90's TFT generally does. It's actually got a 6 GB hard drive which must have been an upgrade at some point in it's life.

IMG_20180617_205706-min.jpg

Thinkpad A20m

Pentium III 500
128 MB RAM
ATI Rage Mobility (Haven't checked if it's a 4 or 8 MB unit)
Crystal 4624 Audio (Which has SB compatibility)
800x600 Active Matrix screen

This one is in pretty good shape physically, just a bit scuffed up on top and missing the hard drive caddy. That said, again, everything works great. Doom sounded a bit buzzy, but not too bad. Still need to do more testing though.

IMG_20180617_205659-min.jpg

Also picked up out of pure nostalgia an NEC MultiSync 3D monitor. No idea if it works yet so I'll post a picture later if it does - and this was free so no real issue if it doesn't. This is pure nostalgia for me, I had a very similar NEC MultiSync 3DS attached to my very first proper PC, an old PS/2 w/386.

Any chance you have the recovery CD or ISO of the Toshiba? Or share where you got that background? Thanks

Called up my dealer saying I needed a fix badly.
He sold me a Compaq Deskpro 66m in reasonable shape with the optional 5.25" floppy drive.

It comes with two metal frames so that you can either have one regular PSU or those weird redundant power supplies. Also look at all those I/O knockouts!

So this is a Pentium 66 with only EISA bus? That's pretty unique.
