You wouldn't guess it by just the looks but it's one of the fastest ISA VGAs 😀

I'll replace the TVGA9000 in my 386SX build with this. It did not POST with a 5401 before though, so this may not work either. That board seems to have issues with VGAs that don't have onboard oscillators, for whatever reason. Has anyone ever had this issue? Apparently OS2 Museum also had it happen with a Cirrus Logic card, which is very strange.

Hi guys, these I got in last few weeks:
Medion notebook i3 2330m upgraded to 8gig of ram from 6, will put in an SSD. It has GT 555M graphics so nice upgrade from my Intel HD 3000 Medion notebook. I got it for a Gigabyte AM3+ board and 3x2Gb DDR3. Now its my main notebook.
Thinkpad 600E with Pentium II and 160Mb of ram (32 on board + 128) 30Gb HDD. Needs more cleaning. Much more 😊
Mozart soundcard - needs recap. Will put in my 386 build. It has an IDE a Sony a Mitsumi and a Panasonic CD connection
Cirrus Logic GD 5422 Eval board This is my first Eval. board graphics, i think it will go on my wall I have no heart to use it 😵
I got the Thinkpad and two cards for a MacBook A1181 and an Ati Rage Pro Turbo AGP card which has small bracket and weird design so it can fit in desktop IBM.
Some ram and cache - the only thing I got for money now, so nice ending of summer for me.

Paid £20 and was assured that it all works. Now these are my first ever voodoo cards but I believe I can test them in my p3 pc as I have a male-female vga lead spare for the passthrough. The rest however will have to wait until I can source an AT power supply or see if ATX-AT adapters exist.

Anyone with any info on this motherboard (PCI54IT) would be appreciated as although this very similar to my first pc (a 486dx4) I have never built a machine pre pentium 3 so it could turn into an adventure.

ATX to AT adapters can be had for a couple of pounds, the only hassle is wiring up the power switch, because you'll need a toggle switch rather than a momentary one. You can bypass that by connecting the green and black wire together though.

On Friday, I received the *rather tanned* Roland SC-7 sound module, it looks EXACTLY like the picture, which is to say, rather brown, it works excellently though. Now I'll need to choose whether I want to keep the Roland SC-155 I got hold of, this one is a lot smaller and sounds exactly the same for what I'm doing with it.

Managed to test the Voodoo2 cards last night and they both work lovely individually and in SLI 😀

that is an amazing find for that price 😀, have fun with those, Voodoo2 SLI is imho the best "3Dfx experience" at least for me 😀

I only had a single 8MB card back in the day and that was the only 3Dfx I had, so I'm glad to have a SLI setup now to experience what I couldn't afford back then ^^

Today was a lucky day. Went to the local PC shop for some thermal compound and asked the seller if they have some old PCs lying around waiting for recycling. They cant throw them away but the company which takes them away comes only few times a year (small shop) so they dont have place in their storage and supports collectors. So I could choose from about 15 computers. Most of them were from 2005-2010 era which is too new for me. But found two gems. One is a Fujitsu Siemens Scenic Pentium 4, 2x512Mb DDR1 ram 40 Gb harddrive. Its a Micro ATX case. It needed some cleaning and it works 😊 The second one is an MSI 694T PRO Socket 370 board with a Celeron 13000MHz, 2x128Mb SD ram, Geforce2 MX 400 64Mb Manli graphics card and no HDD and a dead PSU. In the case was one more dead PSU 🤣. Cleaned it got my testbench PSU and it works too. I had to get out a spider which lived under the motherboard 😎 So at a price of 1,5Euro for the thermal paste I got two PCs too 😊 The guy told me he will reserve me old computers and I can run in whenever I want. I think I will go back in about a month with a bottle of wine for the guy. They have also old notebooks, but now the oldest one was a Dual core which is too new for me. To a normal modern case this is that Scenic almost the half lenght and one 5,25 lower.

I am not sure what I will do with them yet (Certainly wont be selling them!). They are not a good fit for the pentium 100 that they came with and my only other machines are a 1ghz P3 and 1ghz Athlon. Both have much superior GPU options already.

well the good thing with voodoo 2 is that you can use them in addition to your main GPU, can just throw them in there for using them with glide games.

and I guess the rack units already count as "retro-hardware" too, extron MVX 84 vga/audio matrix switcher and an extron USP 405 signal converter/up-down-scaler, this is hopefully going to make handling multiple systems on my main workspace a lot easier... as I plan to have a bunch of systems as actual "workhorses" while setting up more period correct systems in the basement as a small museum-space.

Got 2kg of RAM today for 9 bucks plus shipping. Mostly system specific, but two sticks of 32MB 72pin EDO are always welcome.

That ARK2000 is almost more exciting to me than the Voodoo..

That Jazz card is Voodoo Rush (AT3D + Voodoo1). For me it's very exciting as the detection/reporting (for HWiNFO) of its both components might be quite tricky.

Those caps look pretty good.

Bought these 3 computers for 10$ at a local computer store, along with 5 individual hard drives, ranging in size from 120 MB to 270 MB, and two 3.5" 1.44MB floppy drives. All three machines work, and fire up into their operating systems.

The middle computer was used as a server for a school near me, and is VERY loud, and SUPER heavy. The case is made out of 2mm thick steel. Unfortunately it's (soldered) 😒 Dallas clock battery is dead, but it still boots up.

The Compaq Prolinea 4/66 has sort of been a pain, as it will sometimes just not POST, and turning it off and on again will fix it. 😕

Today, (no pictures, sadly) I got from the same place (free! 😀 ) a Sanyo 16LT laptop that, unbelievably, its battery still holds a charge for 10 or so minutes. Unfortunately, it's LCD is not working, and I don't have any RGB monitors to test it with. I assume it works though, as I can hear it post. The floppy seeks, it beeps, and then starts loading from the floppy drive.

Each machine will have it's own individual thread later on.

I really want make a 98/xp dual boot but Im still hunting a 775 board for a celron 420 build ( less power, heat and noiser coolers).
