Wait, Voodoo5 5500 Macs have DVI-D Dual Link connector (the fourth connector from above; see the pic below), so it is supposed to be okay, isn't it?

Yes it will work with any DVD-D compatible monitor except it will have a Mac BIOS so will most likely not work on a PC unless you can change the bios code to a PC version.

Hate posting a reply and then have to edit it because it made no sense 😁 First computer was an IBM 3270 workstation with CGA monitor. Stuff: https://archive.org/details/@horun

Bought another USB floppy for $5, a Dell/NEC that unfortunately will not read 720k disk, only 1.44Mb 🙁
So if anyone see's a Dell/NEC UF0002 giving a heads up it will work under Win7+ but only with 1.44Mb.
Every one I own that uses Mitsumi or Sony internals seems to read 720k just fine under Win7.

Received today.

I wish Socket 7 / 370 heatsinks weren't a pain to find.

I have the same board I noticed voltage fluctuations on the +5v and +12v rails. Does your board by any chance have the same issue?

Thanks for the links. I won't have the opportunity to fire it up until I can acquire a heatsink, or wait for my other SS7 system to arrive in the mail.

Given your issue, I'd be tempted that dump that Startech 300W for something else.

Closest thing I've gotten to "retro" lately are some laptops, including a 600MHz Pentium III HP that turned out to be stone dead, an eMachines Athlon XP-M laptop with a bad screen, a Gateway Celeron M laptop that works fine but has nasty paint wear on the palm rest, a perfectly intact Dell Latitude D620 with floppy hinges, and a HP Pavilion dv7 AMD laptop that needs its Radeon GPU reflowed. I've got a pair of "WinBook" laptops on the way from eBay though, they seem to both be Pentium 1s with one being a MMX and the other an earlier Pentium.

Socket A / 462 coolers will work as well. Just make sure the cooler is small enough so it won't interfere with motherboard components.

Guessing you are only looking for them in Canada. They are very easily available on eBay in the USA.

I could go that route, but call me impatient for the wait times to have stuff shipped into Canada. We are getting into the Christmas season now, and this is going to put a real strain on all mail/courier companies.

I just got an IBM branded Matrox G200 PCI graphics card (Model# 10L7131). I bought it to replace the obnoxiously huge G2+/DUAL PCI card that obstructs the SATA ports on my motherboard. I could not find an image of it anywhere on the internet prior to purchase, but I'm pleasantly surprised with what I got in the mail.

In addition to the VGA port, it has a TFT Digital Video daughter card attached for digital screens. The connector predates DVI, but I think it has a compatible signal so it should work with an adapter.

I'm also happy to see that the seller included the original manual and installation disks sealed in the packaging.

I can also report that it works perfectly with OS/2 Warp 3.0!

So here is the i486-SX25 that I won a bid on.

Unknown motherboard, but looks to be a Socket 3 LIF of some kind.

Other specs:

i486 SX25
8MB (8x1MB) 72-PIN RAM
Trident TVGA8900D 1MB ISA Graphics
Goldstar Prime 2 ISA Multi I/O Card
Soundblaster AWE64 CT4520 Sound Card
WD 120MB Hard Drive
Mitsumi 8x CD-ROM Drive

The SX25 will be replaced with a Cx486 DX2-80 or DX4-100 once everything arrives. The TVGA8900D will also be replaced with a 90C33-ZZ based video card.

I have a SX25 in a PC9821 CE2 machine I just got, and am I the only one that finds 486 SX processors just...odd. Especially at 25mhz?

That number makes sence for a 286-386, but just kinda hurts my brain when thinking about a 486. Just seems....outdated by then? A odd number for such a processor like a 486-tier. 33mhz is where I start personally.

You'd hate the 16 and 20 MHz 486SX then 😀

Nice looking mid 90's generic case ! Good Find !

Hahaaa sort of like a 16Mhz 386SX ?? yeah have one and is no better than a 16Mhz 286 in most DOS respects.
Think Intel did that because some early 486 boards and cpu's were not very stable at 33mhz... just a guess 😀

Sad to know that an i386 DX40 could almost go toe-to-toe with the i486 SX25. I've spotted some cheap ST (Cyrix Cx486) DX4 CPU's that I'll probably end up grabbing. I'll definitely be swapping out the crap Trident with a Paradise Accelerator VL Plus.

All my 486SX systems were upgraded to 486DX2/50s or 486DX2/66s by the previous owners.

There's a glitch in the matrix.

Apparently 32-bit is dead and nobody likes P4s.
Of course, as always, I'm open to correction...😉

My Packard Bell had a 486 SX2-50 in it. Upgraded it to a DX2-66, then to a DX4-100 OverDrive, and now with this Micro Firmware BIOS, an AMD Am5x86WB-P75 133-ACZ with the Aeries VRM CPU socket.

Now I have an ST 486DX2-80 and 486DX4-100 on the way. That'll keep me happy till I can acquire an Am486 DX4-100 NV8T.
I also purchased a Paradise/WDC 90C33-ZZ video card.
