I'll likely need some help knowing what parts to get for the rest of the system, I'll be trying to remake my childhood gaming PC !!!

Anything that does not include body parts/organs is a good price for this sort of stuff these days - but if you intend to actually use the card, DON'T use the boxed one, sell it or swap it for an unboxed one. You might well get a V5-5500 in exchange for a boxed V3-3000.

As for the rest, tell us more. This card would generally be paired with an early P3, about 64MB RAM and a 8GB HDD.

I unbox every sealed box NOS or other to test it. It could be bad, used and resealed or ??
Got these recent in sealed box never used items last few days and yes opened the boxes and will test them. Not a Voodoo card but still vintage.
Anything vintage in a sealed box is not worth anything to me, could have bad caps, hidden corrosion, you name it.
I paid $20 total for both of these from a thrift store and if they do not work can return them. Would rather have a working unused part than a box with unknown inside 😀

Exactly, which is why you have two completely separate communities actually, those people who value pristine, preferably unopened boxes and those who value tested, known-good cards.

As completely pristine boxes are much rarer than tested, known-good cards, they tend to be more expensive, at least in case of highly desired things like Voodoos. If you then consider that the instant you open a box like that, its value plummets, if you don't care for the boxes yourself you might as well cash in on the value to those who do.

I'm firmly in the 'don't give a damn about boxes, it's the hardware that matters' camp, so the few times I did come across boxes like that I did exactly as described, eg. selling an M3D in sealed box for a fair (well below eBay) price which was more than enough to get a tested working PowerVR PCX2 card without box. The box collector is happy as he got a pristine box for less than scalping prices, I'm happy because I have a working card - and some beer money to spare too.

Insane isn't it! 😀

Akin to hearing about some magical wonderland, "yeah, everyone just leaves bundles of money laying around on the ground, it's normal here".

A few months ago I lucked into the following local package, for USD70 total :
*Q6600 + mobo + RAM + Noctua
*Cyrix/IBM M1 (P200) 6x86 + mobo + RAM
*Geforce 8800GTS
*Voodoo1 in awesome condition
*random PSU
*ESS Audiodrive ISA
*S3 Virge PCI
*random other crap of no note

Extremely rare (i.e. "only time so far in my life") type of bundle around these parts. The seller was in a cosy 7-figure house with some of the most perfect elevated beach/sea views I've ever seen - clearly not bothered about extracting maximum-possible measly few hundred bucks for his old PC junk.

Built a new XP system around the Q6600, and upgraded one of my P1s.

I think I could use an advice. Which of these cards would you consider a GOOD buy for 10€?

- GeForce FX 5700LE
- GeForce 2 MX400 64 MB
- GeForce FX 5200
- nVidia Vanta Riva TNT2 M64
- S3 Savage4 16MB
- SIS Apollo 315
- Geforce4 MX440 64MB +TV
- nVidia Vanta Riva TNT2 PRO

The answer to this will largely depend on what you aim for. For example, if you want period correct then the TNT2 Pro, MX400 and Savage4 are your friends. If you just want the best performance, the FX5200 and FX5700LE are basically the same thing, bottom of the barrel of a family of cards 3 generations from the future but would have decent compatibility with P2/3 era games. The MX440 will be a good middleground between performance and compatibility - it should, for all intents and purposes, act about as fast as a GeForce2 GTS, which is a pretty good target for a P2 system and early P3 system.

FX 5700 LE is a really underclocked FX 5700, but it does still have advantages over an FX 5200/5500 like it has more Vertex Shaders or lossless color and Z compression (both removed from NV34 aka FX 5200/5200 Ultra/5500)

Why yes, yes it is. Actually there was a 4th boxed one (without a sleeve) which turned out to be Voodoo Rush. I'm pretty happy about the pricing too. 😁

Bought a NexGen NxVL chip. Fortunatelly, the one on my board is working, but given rarity of NexGen stuff having a spare one might prove to be handy.

That's also suggests there must be a motherboard without one at large ....

So to day I picked up this beauty:
0UO1csh.jpg

It is an SMK (Tulip branded) ATK 02.01.01 with white (tactile) SMK switches. It is XT/AT switchable by four DIP switches on the back. Just tested it with a PS/2 adapter and it's in perfectly working condition. Build quality looks really good and it must weight over a kilo. Typing is satisfactory although I'd prefer Brown SMK switches. But overall I'm pretty happy for the 24€ I paid.

PC1😜 III-S 1.4GHz, GA-6VTXE, 512MB SDRAM, Albatron FX5900XTV 128MB, SB Live! 5.1
PC2😜 III 800MHz, MS-6178, 256MB SDRAM, 3DFX Voodoo3 2000 PCI, Creative CT4810
PC3😜 MMX 200MHz, SY-5EAS5, 128MB SDRAM, Diamond Monster 3D, Diamond Viper V330, ESS 1868F

I've seen the NxVL's show up for sale once in a while .. The NexGen CPUs on the other hand are very rare ..

Please use the "quote" option if asking questions to what I write - it will really up the chances of me noticing 😀

That's a fair price. Also have one to complement a Tulip Vision Line DC (386SX-25), our first computer at home.

The PCB says it was manufactured in the 8th week of 1995 though.

PS: I love those Number 9 cards!

Grabbed this for $65 shipped just now on Ebay. I already have this motherboard in another build, but I guess it doesn't hurt to have a spare.
