Oh, cool, it has active cooling. That's awesome. I was concerned it might heat up other 5¼" devices, but with a fan, should be no issue. Great!

I basically pumped real time video through a 386 SX/25 with this card doing graphic overlays in MS-DOS using the proprietary DOS software it came with. It was truly an amazing card for its time. The only reason I was looking for one is to once and for all archive all the docs and software for those who want to own one or at least collect it since most that come up for auction don't have the software or docs. The only other piece to the puzzle are the cables that come with it. The manual has pin out diagrams luckily.

The model I received has what looks to be the latest BIOS which is version 2.22. So definitely a bonus. It technically was announced and released in 1991, but I never actually saw one retail until 1992.

Usual 423 systems were SDRAM based, so yeah... crippled CPU with crippled memory.

Finally! I found a PS2 to Serial adapter that works on my Microsoft Mouse Serial Port Mouse 2.0.

And not really retro, but I bought a FX-4100 with Heatsink for $4 bucks.

I'd be one happy mofo if I found a Cardinal card, let alone in box.

There is one on Ebay, but barebones and pricey. There are no cables, docs or software either. I will be archiving all the docs and software shortly.

I haven't been posting much in this thread lately, but I nabbed these for $20 shipped, which is a great price if they work. Pictures look pretty good, so I'm hopeful!

I got a large shipment of parts and computers in from Poland. I've also done this to a fellow board member's (non-socketed Dallas RTC)

This is my third or fourth refit, but first one with a chip soldered in in such a way that I wouldn't dare take a dremel to a mounted device, so it had to come out.

Got a pair of beauties this week: a vanilla Geforce3 by Abit, and a 9700 Pro by Hercules! The Radeon's fan needs some maintenance, but besides that they both work great.

A little less than 1/5th the original price. I was happy to pay it too considering its condition and it has been at the very top of my wanted list.

How about a Youtube video? My whole plan of when I finally found one is to archive all the software and docs. Scan the box. Photograph all components and finally do a demo video before donating it to a computer museum which is where this will eventually go as with most my other rare finds.

personally I wouldn't bother with desoldering the tag ram and add more cache *unless* the mobo is really good and stable

Pro tip:
It will not be much of an issue in this application (relatively high voltage and low current), but standard workmanship to avoid EMI crosstalk is to always have the line crossings be perpendicular. If you secure the new conductor to the board roughly where Keropi indicated, or along the original trace, it will look quite tidy and there will be less noise on those signal lines.

picked up a 1040ST.

Monitor is monochrome... I need a color solution, debating getting an SC1224 color monitor or just settle for a composite breakout cable. Anyone know if there's a way to get these to output to a Commodore 1080/1084?
