1730.

But, I just noticed the pictures of the card are EXACTLY the same pictures from this link: http://www.flaterco.com/kb/audio/ISA/index.html
In the link above it says the card was broken on arrival.
I am not talking about similar, is is the very same card.
Looks at the green sticker, soldering on oscillators, jumper orientation, component slants, two red marks on top left corner. 😐 😐

The seller I bought it from had another exact same CT1740 card on August 25th.
I already contacted the seller to make sure he actually ships the pictured card, and it is tested and working like ebay auction said.

EDIT:
I contacted Dave from flaterco.com and indeed this is the very same card he bought from the same seller in July 2016.
The seller sunking tries to sell this defective card over and over again each month.
Please do not buy THIS particular CT1740 from sunking because it is defective (no sound on one PCM channel) and has been returned countless times.

Ahhh.. twenty years late but who cares. Now just have to hope it works.

EDIT: OK it works, played GLQuake and 3DFX patched Descent.

Nice! That was the 3dfx Voodoo I first wanted, but then I learned about the Canopus Pure 3D 6MB and I drooled. I never got either card back then. And to this day I have never owned a 3dfx card. I need to get the Canopus Pure 3D... my life will not be fulfilled if I don't.

There are a couple of them on eBay in box. They are not cheap however 🙁.

Yamaha Audician 32 Plus (ISA SB clone) 10€
GeForce 2 MX200 32MB (AGP 4x) 3€

Audician goes to my slim case 386 SX-20 as an all-around sound card. I'm planning to use the card itself for Sound Blaster FM synth and connect Roland MT-32 through the card's game port for MIDI (maybe I'll add SoftMPU if I feel like I need the intelligent mode). GF2 I bought just because I got it for cheap (and I thought it might have worked in my current P2-450 build but sadly no: motherboard had only AGP 2x slot).

Your Geforce 2 MX is compatible with an AGP 2x slot.

You can see the two notches at this card.

Congrats. To me, the clicking relay's are what makes the Orchid a special card.
I am on my third card now, since the late 90's. Never owned more than one at time though.
And none of them has given me any issues. I have had other V1, only they have felt "cheaper".

It should be compatible, yes. But my PC's monitor remains blank when I tried it. Same thing happened with GF4 MX400 I have (both are AGP 4x). My motherboard is based on Intel 440BX, does that have something to do with my troubles?

I have used a GeForce2 MX card on an Intel SE440BX-2 board without issues so I don't think the chipset is the problem.

Truth be told I don't know where the trouble is. It could be that both my GeForce MX cards are defective. Or the motherboard I try to apply to them has some AGP issues (the original Matrox Millenium G200 AGP 2x it has now works just fine). If I had another AGP motherboard or more AGP cards at the hand I could experiment more. I just got tired of the whole ordeal and installed a Voodoo 2 card in PCI slot to take over the 3D from the Matrox. Now the system works ok.

But anyway, enough of this derail. Others probably want to hear about recent buys more than my current GPU problems... 😵

@candle_86

use these: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?It … N82E16835114056

The processors are a bit close together for large single heatsinks, the ones I linked are VERY effective. The boards PWM will keep them quiet, but if the temp goes up the can scream. I use them for my similar board (mine is micro-atx)

It is a mistake to think you can solve any major problems just with potatoes.

...Oh boy. So that's what an impulse buy feels like. $37.76 shipped. All untested. This could either be an incredible haul or a terrible mistake...

Yes, I'm aware the two mobos with barrel batteries are most likely toast. But I already have a working 486 VLB board, and the other two appear to have a coin cell and a wired battery pack (whatever you call those things) respectively.

It shouldn't. I have a GF4 Ti4200 in a 440BX motherboard, it's 4X and works nicely.

I spot an S3 VLB card made by Diamond (the one with the blue sticker on the BIOS chip and its logo in the top left corner), a Cirrus Logic VLB card, ISA io card (single IDE), ISA NIC without bracket, some SDRAM, couple modems, the AGP graphics card looks to be some GFMX I think, Ati AGP card (probably Rage 3D or something, probably 8MB), couple cards I can't really see what they are and 3 Socket 3 boards which have cache chips that can be removed and placed into another board (they look like ordinary 32kb cache chips), Socket 7 board which seems to have 430VX chipset or so.

Good haul!

edit: The Ati AGP card looks like this one (sorry, I don't remember how to create thumbnails, the pic is a bit large 😊 ).

edit2: The GFMX looks to be a GF4MX card like this one http://www.gpureview.com/database/images/card … 4-mx-440-8x.jpg

Just a note, make sure you read the specs there. These fans are -LOUD-, specs are right there on the page. Rated for 51db @ 100%. They also use a unique fan size of 77mm and I've had these before... trust me.. if you want to swap the fan for another, you'll never find another fan anywhere that's 77mm.

These two just arrived.....
Looking forward to test them out. Eighter tonight or I will have to wait until monday.
One of them looks like a wavetable card and the other looks like OPL4-wavetable.

I sold a pack with various hardware a while ago (helped one get into this hobby)
and I bought them for the money I got.
