Got this REALmagic MPEG Audio / Video accelerator yesterday. Thank you Dirkmirk!
Haven't gotten around to trying it just yet, but I've got a 386 SX 33 ready to go.
I'll try not to buy as much stuff this year. Last year was crazy and I've already got so much stuff. It will last me years to test and review them all 😵
Wow nice!! I never knew they made ISA based MPEG decoders. I've got two Realmagic MPEG2 decoders at home and I used to use one of them as a kid to watch DVD's on my computer (a celeron 300!). Fun times. I wonder, did you get the VGA cable with it too?
I cannot find a direct comparison between a bliss 7800gs+ and a x850xt Platinum Edition.
So, if you have both: you got some benchies to do! 🤣
I got a Gainward 7900 GS (20PS/7VS, hard locked).
Here's comparison of it to x850XT PE, and few other cards : LINK
Text is in Polish, but charts are English friendly 😉
@foey
plug it in a pci-e 1x slot and see what windows comes up with. The Spartan IC you photographed does not help since it's a FPGA and can have anything programmed in it

Thank you, looks like the 6800 got some boost with later drivers, compared to old reviews it got closer with x850xt pe. 7900gs is quicker, no doubt. So Artex's 24/8 card should be even faster.
His card is the same as the 7950GT AGP which i have never seen in the wild.

As it does not have interfaces it does some kind of processing partially implemented in the FPGA.
Maybe the chip under the heatsink/fan would give us a clue?

As promised... Some pictures of the SCSI haul. I have only had power on the Lacie box, and it really need an overhaul.
The fan is loud and sounds like it is about to give up. I will try and give it some new oil, and see if it fixes it.
Need to tighten a coupe of screws and clean it up too. Two of the CD-Drives are tray, the Plextor is a caddy one.
Then there are a Tape drive, HP Branded, wich are one of those professional ones. No media sadly, so I can't test it.
Finally there are three controllers, wich one of the ISA ones have horrible bent pins, and there are a cable i needed.
Happy with this little SCSI haul.... Not bad for free stuff. Anyone knows what caddy to look for and is there anyone
here that knows anything about that HP tape drive? (I was thinking in terms of were and how to deploy it)
Splitting this up in two posts, as there are 8 pictures in all. Uhhh... Forgot... There is a terminator too. 😜
(does not come with Arnold included 🤣 )
This is going to be so awesomme, adding a complete SCSI setup onto my Unisys Pw/2 Series-300 80286 machine.
pull the heat sinks off. I'm sure there something under there that would help. Could be a encoder card or something. If you take a look it has a header on the back of the card. Also Try something like PCI-z to see what it is.
