From the same seller that sells the Nec yamaha DB50XG clones, bought this for $7,50.
Unfortunately arrived with a minor damage perhaps it was already like that before shipping. A smd cap (C27) was missing and that's why I had one channel missing, had no idea the value of it but I was ready to try some, the first one I put (100nf) worked and did not notice any difference at all between left and right.

Tried it with a Montego 2, will try it later in real mode DOS with this Santacruz.

Yep, setting boot from SCSI in BIOS.

I wonder if a card like that would see a performance increase by changing the dram chips to -10's... which I assume are 100 millisecond rather than 120.

Is the Obsidian based on the Voodoo 2 chip?

Yes, thanks to you sir!! 😀 Yep - 2 x Voodoo2 chips = SLI on one card.

Got a 486 in an at style case today. I thought it was rather ugly. It also felt cheap and plastic. Well. Its still pretty awesome:

What a surprise! Here are specs on the motherboard: http://stason.org/TULARC/pc/motherboards/A/AC … ml#.UU-27BzvvZx

I honestly was on the fence with this case, it felt cheap and plastic, but good golly how often do you find an AT case, let alone one that is partially tool-less? The keyboard is ps/2 and has a ps/2 mouse next to it. the hole can be knocked out for the "standard" AT style keyboard if the need should arise. The cpu is a DX2-50. *bleh* And the motherboard only supports 1x and 2x multipliers. I tried several dx4's. none worked. Although the 50 would post and run just fine @ 66. I didn't leave it on that setting as it had no heatsink. Has 128k of cache, upgradable to 256k.

Its rather easy to spot in the 3rd picture, but it has onboard SCSI! An adaptec chipset too! Strangely, it only has ONE ide channel, and you cant set the scsi to the open irq 15. at least at first glance, I haven't played with it that much.

The hard drive is dead. Click of death. It wasn't worth much anyway. I would REALLY liked to have looked at the contents of the drive. Just in case there are any special drivers or programs for the motherboard.

I also got in the mail, an ebay auction, a pack of EIGHT, new aplha heatsinks. All I need to do is get some slim 60mm fans and I should be good to go for life! Its a little tight for room on my dual 462 board, but it should work fine in the end.

One of my recent acquisitions at one of the local surplus places. I haven't the foggiest of there is anything particularly special about it, except that it has an I2S connector, which I considered strange for something so old. The last time I took an interest in I2S was when the Live! was still popular.

I thought it was neat the way they designed the card with provision for either SMD or Through-hole capacitors. I'm going to recap this card with through-hole electrolytics. It's also equipped with a very powerful amplifier, which makes me curious how many volts it's receiving; obviously, not more than 12V at the most so I figure it can't be supplying more than about 5-6W maximum, and it's probably less, but it's a far cry from the TEA2025B which became the norm.

Evans & Sutherland Tornado 3000 (1999, 30+32 MB) - based on REALimage 3000

Quake runs flawlessly 😀

NeTpower UltraFX (1996, 28 MB) - based on Dual 3DLabs GLiNT 500TX + Delta Geometry processor, the largest card in my collection. Unfortunately not working (SMD components missing, hope I'll repair it)

Cheap and plastic? I *LOVED* your case. Even todays extreme cases with porshe level prices don't have this novel idea. I don't believe how easiliy accessable all the parts, just with a simple idea executed brilliantly.

I'd been working as a service tech during beige case era (from 386DX40 to early pentiums) and never seen anything like it. all the maintream cases were shit during that period. Cheap, crappy, razor sharp, misalligned and virtually identical(ly crappy) except their ugly plastic front finishes.

This one is a GEM!...

Awesome cards! I love vintage pro 3D cards too, have the Oxygen 202 and 402, a bunch of Diamond Fire GL cards, some Elsa Glorias, and a few Accelgraphics / Intergraph boards. Still pining for a working Tornado 3000 (mine's broken). There's one on eBay but it's priced way higher than I'm willing to pay.

Never seen the Netpower UltraFX board before - it's huge! Is it designed to fit into a custom enclosure?
