Got a YMF724 with SB Link header, guess it's pretty normal stuff here.
And a pretty old QDI SX5EP 815ep mobo with sb-link too.
Pics are from seller.

A-Trend card which I had back in the 90s and I still have it although my younger stupid me threw away the original box ;/

It's one of the best YMF724 cards.

OK so I have a question.. I got an offer on a YMF754 PCI sound card. I never even knew a YMF754 existed - what is this chip and is it worth getting? Already have two cards with YMF744..

Differences are minor and regard simultaneous use of SPDIF and ZV Port and no resampling to 48kHz when recording through SPDIF In... More here Yamaha YMF7x4 Guide

Thanks, card is functional but I don't know what to think about this chip. Looks like a strange mix of bugged hardware with shitty drivers 😀

Bought a vintage Sony Vaio P4 laptop today. It was only $22 and is in pristine condition. All I had to do was listen to some old timer rattle his gums about the good old days. Claimed to have worked for Magnavox back in the day, specifically, the stylistic design of the case on the Odyssey. He also claimed nobody knows the real history of pong and that, upon seeing a couple of guys playing with a broken oscilloscope in the lab one day, he suggested that they make a game out of it. His version of the history of Pong implied that Nintendo owns the rights to Pong, which I am like 99.9% is not true. But since these old P4 Vaio laptops usually go for around $200 in this sort of condition, I was willing to listen to whatever BS he was spinning.

Seems overpriced...

Yeah, that's definitely way too expensive...

They seem to go for $10 on ebay. Maybe the 50% price increase is worth it for someone that desires a new OEM CPU for their retro build?

Has a lot of CDs, a boot diskette, external FDD, manuals, and charger with the cords.

Also got a Psyclone PSE1969 Guitar Hero PS2 wireless receiver on eBay since the one for my controller went missing years ago.

Used the PayPal credit (applied for that last night and got approved).

Bought a scrap lot specifically to acquire an unknown ESS wavetable daughterboard that originally came with a motherboard in the same lot. Behold, the extremely horrid potato pics from the seller... cropped to only show the items in question on course.
Damaged MB - I should have a working copy of the motherboard although I have no plans to use it:

This Fujistu-Siemens 440BX goodie, looks good but it's not posting. Don't know if the CPU (PII-500) is working, but it should...

Seems there is a problem with memory... I used a double sided 128mb stick from HP.
