Bought an Orchid Voodoo1 for 15 US Dollars.
Only missing V5, Banshee, Radeon9800 and a GF2 GT or better,
to complete my GFX card collection.

Don't eat stuff off a 15 year old never cleaned cpu cooler.
Those cakes make you sick....

There is no such thing as a complete GFX collection 😈 You'll want more and more and this desire won't ever leave you 😈

Truth -- in my case, at least. Never imagined that I'd want to experiment with a Matrox G400, Rendition Verite, and DX8/9 PCI cards. I've accumulated over 60 video cards over the past couple of years. I'd like to narrow those down to about a dozen.

For me, the collection would be complete.
Only need to buy a second one of all my cards.
Just to have a backup, when something dies.

Keeping a huge box of vintage video cards isn't the problem, stuffing each one into a running machine is when things get out of hand.

- A nice VLB S3 P86C805 (S3 805 with a never seen old S3 logo like three S and 3 ) with 1MB soldered and another 1MB mounted

- A nice QD6580W hard disk (2 IDE), floppy, game port serial and parallel VLB (? I thought was used only for vga) controller

- TI 486DLC-40AG upgrade processor

- Some L2 15/20ns and tag chips

- A network 386DX based coprocessor that seems to be identical to a 386

Was at a fleamarket today and bought 3 cards. Not exactly retro but couldn't pass it up:

4870 X2 10 euro
asus en5750 1 euro
creative audigy2 1 euro

All a bit of a gamble ofcourse but i like that.

Audigy2 works like a charm, victory!

4870x2 has issues (ofcourse). At first it had artifacts, after cleaning the contacts those were gone but it still locks up with any 3d (black screen). Candidate for the ''oven trick'' i guess...

The en5750 would not install drivers and for more than an hour i couldn't find the problem. Turns out it is an Nvidia card 😵 😵 😵 I was sure the 5750 is an Ati card...
Apparantly the pci express version of the fx5700 is called the 5750 by Asus, never knew that 🤣
I did think it was a small cooler for a hd5750 😊

It works but i have no use for it unfortunately, so it will be a test card for pci-e boards.

oh well, better luck next time.

Pics or it didn't happen 🤣

Got in a couple of 5.25" floppy drives, as well as an old-revision Roland MT-32.

Oh, and I got an Apple IIe (complete, disks, monitor, drives, etc) and a Macintosh SE. I have a ton of old data from family members that I'll be using them to access data, that and I always wanted an actual old Apple IIe and Mac SE to play around with. Hard Hat Mac for the win....

I posted images of a box full of memory I won on the Swedish Ebay clone Tradera a few days ago.

How much memory do you get for ~30 Euro? Quite a lot it seems...

Hello everyone! Been a little while since I've posted here, but between my husbandly/new fatherly responsibilities of getting the nursery ready for our new arrival (should be here any day now), I managed to find some real gems and wanted to share with you retro maniacs!

3DFX Voodoo3 Mouse Pad (Green) Yep, a 3DFX mouse pad... so what!?
gviwwd.jpg

3DFX Voodoo3 Mouse Pad (Purple) (Sealed) Yep, ANOTHER 3DFX mouse pad... This one's sealed.
Mp3b5e.jpg

3DFX HammerHead FX Game Controller (Boxed) (1999) One more 3DFX oddity, I talked the seller down quite a bit and although the box is rough, it's... still a boxed item and you KNOW I love my boxes... 😎
OdxOQs.jpg
nSIAg5.jpg

3DFX Voodoo Banshee - Diamond Monster Fusion (Z100) 16MB PCI (Tank Artwork/Software Bundled Version) (Sealed) (1999) Received this and a special item below as part of a trade. Yeah, I'm a 3DFX fan.. 😀
jEw0B4.jpg

3DFX Voodoo Rush - Jazz Multimedia Adrenaline Rush 3D 6MB PCI (Sealed) (1997) This one's been on my want list for quite some time as well. Very pleased to find a sealed version out there in EU.
3tuaBQ.jpg

3DFX Voodoo2 - Orchid Righteous 3D II 12MB PCI (Sealed) (1998) FINALLY, a sealed version!! Since I got a boxed Canopus II 12MB a while back, I've been dying for the Orchid version. This one was also from EU 😎
DOGZuq.jpg

Diamond Monster Sound (2MB ROM) PCI (NOS) (Sealed) This one popped up randomly in an eBay auction and I pounced on it. This is the original, non-M80, MX200, MX300, MX400, etc from I believe 1996 or 1997. Been wanting one of these for quite a while now.

nrmKYJ.jpg

AdLib Personal Computer Music System (Music Synthesizer Card) (Boxed) (1987) This one I got on trade, along with the sealed Monster Fusion. Pretty good deal I'd say, especially since is the 1987 version with the big-box packaging for Personal Computer Music System bundle. I'd still like to track down the 'normal' 1987 black/red box, but now that I have retail packages for the 1987 and 1990 versions I'm a happy camper! Look at how good of shape that box is in for being 28 years old 🤣

How good is that monster sound compared with the MX 200 version?

Very close - all the same APIs supported. The newer MX200 does have a larger 4MB ROM MIDI patch set which I think was Roland/Dream based.
