I guess opti cars are cheap and nasty? Just been digging in my cupboards and found an old (seemingly unused) ISA card with an opti chip and 4 cd interfaces on it - IDE, sony, mitsumi, panasonic. Was this normal in those days? Seems to be more cd-interface than soundcard.

I didn't have problems with my Opti MAD16 Pro (82C929) back then. It has a real OPL3 chip and could be switched between SBPRO and WSS. But I didn't have soo many games either...

I had exactly the same card.
