This was supposed to the very last 486 socket made. But was it ever made? I've seen conflicting reports on the intertubes as to whether or not they were, so has anyone seen one?

From what I see: Intel designed the Socket 6 but no manufacturer put it into production because the 486 was on the way out. Hence all the references to it being "rarely seen". Rarely as in never, except maybe prototypes Intel might have put together.

Socket6 was paper release only. The only thing that made it different from Socket3 was that it lacked support for 5V CPUs.
