Nice! Any chance this mod will make the CPU/cache work in a 430TX board?

I'm waiting for the answer to this one too.

Give me a board and i'll report 😉

All I can do is add it to my list, which is approaching infinity. So many other things have a higher priority though. I'm sure someone else will this hardware combination will get to it before me.

Right now i can say that the VIA MVP3 and the 430HX work. So the TX should, in theory, work too.
But it depends on the BIOS as well. I've got 2 industrial PC cards with the 430HX, there the CPU doesn't even post.

Quick follow up: GA-586HX (430HX) also working!

With L2 cache on? That would be a first for a 430 chipset.

Yes, of course!

Speedsys graph follows, have to mod the board before doing extensive tests because its lowest voltage is way to high for the CPU.

Yep. That's what i was trying to tell everyone. I checked with an unmodded vs. modded CPU and it solves the problem of L2 cache, as long as the mobo bios detects the CPU (which nearly every bios should do)

Excellent news.

amadeus, are you able to test this mod in a 430FX, 430VX, or 430TX board?

I do not know which chipsets I have, there are 5 S(S)7 boards in the storage - at least one bearing an SiS5591 chipset. I also have to buy the Tillamooks since I didn't follow through originally due to not being sure about optimal performance.

Should I be able to gather some data, then YES.

Ok guys, another one.
This time: 112MHz x 3.5 => 392MHz

Quake Timedemo over 80fps, even with 640x480 over 20fps!

Board is a FIC VA503+ this time - only board i had on hand with >100MHz

Is this a 266mhz oc to 392, right?

I wonder if the chip is long term stable at 350 MHz. That would make for a desirable setup.

EDIT: I predict a 430TX board, if it will work with this chip, will score about 20.x FPS in software Quake at 640x480 when run at 83.3x3.5, or 292 MHz.
