Today I got this card together with an IBM PC Server 325 (Intel Pentium Pro inside), and while it's drying after a thorough wash I thought I'd gather some info that could ease testing later on:

Now the questions 😀:

- What's the square socket for? Is it by any chance for a Chrontel TV-out chip?
- How does TV-out work with these cards? Is there a Control Panel provided by the driver for controlling it, or does the card simply output everything (2D or 3D) to the TV? Assuming a Chrontel chip is required in that socket, is it enough or do I need anything else with it, in order to get the TV-out functionality?
- The card has VGA, composite out, s-video out, and what's the fourth connector for?
- What are the two jumpers for?

Many thanks in advance.

hi

yes, the socket is for the TV-out
Manual say both Jumpers Shot Disable TV, both Open Enable TV
the 3rd connector is for 3D Stereo Glasses

The square socket is indeed for a Chrontel chip (CH7002D-V), judging by the Voodoo Rush cards I have.

The fourth connector is probably for stereoscopic glasses; 3D glasses.

The jumpers could be for switching between PAL and NTSC or switching for the absent Chrontel chip.

Great info so far... in the meantime I started testing the card on a Win98SE, K6-2/400 - based system that I had around.

After having to take the mainboard out of the case (card too long, not enough room) and having to lower the GPU clock rate in the .inf file and the registry (in order to fix the garbled text in Windows), now I'm stuck with Quake 2 not working in 3Dfx OpenGL mode - the LCD monitor enters stand-by mode and after pressing the Esc key a few times the system reboots 🙁...
