...GF FX5500 PCI on a 430tx board
So, that means YOUR model (= ?) actually works! on that 430TX board then.
Haven't tested on socket 7 yet myself, so who knows what is wrong here on the slot1.

No new PCI Card wanted to work in my PPro 200Mhz, not even a Radeon 7000 PCI.
I had partial success with a GeForce 2MX PCI, but only 32bit memory interface cripples it..
and it was unstable.
It had a Acer Specific BIOS, so i think this was the Problem.

Curious. I have a GF2MX PCI which runs well on a 486 motherboard using an AMD 5x86-160. I have 2 such cards from different manufacturers. One card has really slow display rates when natigating menus in the BIOS, while the other does not. So it is still possible that your particular GF2 is flakey with your particular motherboard.
