Work woke me up at 4:50am this morning, so I soldered up a RGB2HDMI Amiga 2000 adapter. Still need to design and 3D print a bracket. I have a nice HDMI adapter and button I'll put on the bracket.

Today I finally got a CF card installed & working in my 4.77MHz IBM XT build with the XTIDE Universal BIOS (installed on a 3Com 3C509B Ethernet Card):
I tried first last week with a 64MB card and it wouldn't work at all on 3 different generic 16-Bit ISA I/O controllers.
Ordered a couple of CF cards to test further - a 128MB CF card worked perfectly, but a 256MB card did not - until I realised I'd altered the XTIDE drive config settings when trying to get the 64MB card to work. Once I fixed that and re-programmed the EEPROM, both the 128MB & 256MB cards worked great.
So I've decided to stick with the 128MB card, as it should be more than sufficient storage for an XT and could probably fit the entire 4.77MHz playable games library 🤣.
Partitioned the card into 4 partitions with IBM PC DOS 3.30 - 3x 32MB partitions & 1x 27MB partition. I'm using the CF card as an additional storage drive for now, leaving the installed 20MB MFM HDD as Drive C. However I did back up all of the HDD's contents onto the 1st partition of the CF card, just in case the HDD ever decides to pack up.
During testing, 1 of the 3 I/O controllers simply refused to work in the XT with any CF cards. This setup sure is picky! Weird that it didn't like the 64MB CF card at all, yet did like the larger capacity cards. I guess the 64MB card must be slightly non-standard.
Just need to try and figure out the jumper settings on the I/O card now, to enable the Serial Port and hopefully enable me to free up 2 ISA slots previously occuped by separate Serial, Parallel & Game I/O cards.

It isn't my project, I just built it from the original creator's files on Github.
Yet another update on my SixtyClone.... The modern modulator replacement came in the mail today, and I am freaking ready to test with chips installed in the sockets. This have been a loooong way to this point. Not that it takes that long to solder and build. It is quite easy and simple to do. Yet I had to buy parts in small quanteties, and build a little by little, in order to be able to afford it. Except for the GND wire that are soldered directly to the modulator, then I have installed sockets and pins, to be able to take it off if testing is in need. 😉
So.... Pic's or it didn't happen' (so they say) It looks soooo good.
What do people think so far?

Well. Good work on the soldering. Looks great, and you will have great and flawless video output. Just make sure that the monitor can do at least 1080P.
I am using a Dell 2001fp with a HDMI/DVI cable. Works perfect and every single pixel are inside a border. I think all 19 to 24 inch Dell FP monitors form the 00's can do it.

Thanks. I was going to try it on a 1280x1024 Eizo LCD.. (HDMI to DVI adapter). From the project files, it appears it does support that resolution. (hdmi_group=2, hdmi_mode=35)

That is exactly the resolution my Dell monitor is running with the RGB-to-HDMI.

I'm still waiting for Mouser to deliver all the parts missing for my A500++ (some on a backlog until Dec.21)

CMB75 -- for your backlogged parts, aren't they available anywhere else, or an equivalent part offered? I know sometimes when I order on Mouser/Digikey and they are sold out of something, I can usually find an in-stock alternative that has specs within tolerance of what is needed (i.e. higher/lower temperature rating, automotive grade, etc)

Today I finally got a CF card installed & working in my 4.77MHz IBM XT build with the XTIDE Universal BIOS (installed on a 3Com 3C509B Ethernet Card):

I am having good results with Transcend cards, as well as Cisco ones. I have a generic 2GB (no name) and it's not entirely compatible. I got my XTIDE set up yesterday with a 3COM Ethernet III ISA card. I bought the ROM from eBay, it works great.

The KVM is on the floor and the wiring's a mess, so I will have to build a bracket for it. I had a great time labelling the KVM selectors - 8086, 386, 486, 586 😁

Finished the original Age Of Empires 2 HD (only included Age of Kings and Age of Conquerors campaigns) so got the African Kingdoms HD version which included those of the original HD plus Forgotten and Afican Kingdoms campaigns.
Just to keep playing because it is a fun single player game 😀
Under WIn XP and Win7 had to install Visual C++ Redistributable for Visual Studio 2012 or would get a missing DLL error. The original 2 campaign version did not require it.
For those interested: minimum requirements:
CPU SPEED: 1.2 GHZ CPU
RAM: 1 GB
OS: Windows XP, Vista, 7, 8 Pro+
VIDEO CARD: Direct X 9.0c Capable GPU, PIXEL SHADER: 3.0, VERTEX SHADER: 3.0

FREE DISK SPACE: 4.5 GB.
So it will run well on any good XP machine 😀

I think it was my mistake, actually. I ordered all missing BOM parts from Mouser and followed the thought “Let’s be environment friendly” and hit that “deliver everything in one shipment” button. Over the next couple of days the status changed repeatedly, even for parts which were supposed to be in stock already. Yesterday I changed the delivery to “ship what you’ve got”. So the first parts should be here soon.
Furthermore I have to admit I was too lazy to check my own storage what’s left from all those Ben Eater projects.
I have two 32GB DOMs, but SATA to IDE boards are still in transit from China, so decided to test them with what parts I have.
DOMs are with female SATA, so is the SATA to IDE board I have, and no male to male SATA adapter.
I have a pile of failed HDDs, so cut two male SATA connectors and solder them to each other.
Here is how that thing fits in SATA to IDE board:
And yes, it works, tested on 440BX board, Win98SE runs like rocket 😀
Swapped Bank 1 (all 9 sockets) with new 4164-15NL chips on my AST SixPakPlus RAM RTC Serial card and installed a CR2025 as a temporary battery so I can get a CR2032 or 2325 (if they are available to purchase). It keeps the time and date (found a Y2K patched version of the ASTCLOCK program) and I'm getting close to getting the Compaq Portable 1 to be completed. Only thing left is to replace the plastic guides for the long cards.

(until I get a USB PCI card in to connect the USB adaptor internally and a PCI sound card to connect a CD audio cable internally, I have both..somewhere and XP shouldnt mind multiple soundcards... the onboard soundcard works well with XP and yes all cables are tucked to the side now, so the side panel wont interfere with them)
it might be considered somewhat new but as long as it will play older windows games then I will be very happy
