This is my first computer -- a 486
It was a hand-me-down I received for Christmas.
Before giving it to me, my brother "upgraded" it from Windows 3.1 to Windows 95 and added the 24X CD drive.
It still works, though I've had to replace the hard drive.

I'm hoping to resale these, or find enthusiasts who want/need a specific case. I know someone out there NEEDS their exact old computer case.

Hi,

I'm looking for an old beige case for my next gaming rig (it's gonna be a sleeper). May I pm you for details?

I'm hoping that you're still active around here or get notified by email (I'm not your typical forum user, I only just made this account to contact you).

The only modification to the original parts is the Plextor CD-RW as the original Mat"shit"a CD-ROM was really struggling.
Of course, there are numerous 3Dfx Voodoo, Rendition Verite and PowerVR PCX2 cards going in and out of it constantly.

An ok looking case, nice gills on the front. One of the better looking Dell towers in my opinion. I'm not a big fan of these Dell towers, except that they are one of the few computers of the era that can actually create a working boot password, which is great. Though I like the look of the beige Dell Optiplex desktops much more.

I have one of these Dell Dimensions, an XPS D333. (333MHz Pentium II) I believe it was the last and fastest model to use this particular case style.

For me some of those large OEMs (like Dell, HP, Compaq etc) did make nice-looking cases, but since they're often not compatible with standard PC components (PSUs and motherboards/motherboard trays come to mind) so these are a bit too inflexible to me. I'd have to keep more spare parts just for them and I already have enough stuff as it is.

Here's my hoard. Been collecting since about 2009.

First computer I got was in the case with those sticker eyes on it, which my dad put on there (was his old work computer). I switched it to a different case I brought brand new at a labor day sale at a local PC repair shop. Case close out sale, can't not take advantage of it! I also maxed out the CPU and RAM the board supports (P3 600, 512mb pc133 sdram) and added a bunch of other goodies to it like firewire 🤣 (It's the PC to the right next to the atari in the second photo)

I'll provide detailed photos upon request, or even them booting up! 😁

PS left out laptops and the 3 other ataris not hooked up

That sticker eye case was the first retro case I ever got too! I had two of them. They belonged to my Dad. I think they are one of the most attractive looking cases ever made, though they have that peculiar look about them being the face of a smiling man with a 5:00 shadow! haha

You have a perfect collection of beige cases. I also really like your two flip switch style cases and your Aopen HX45 below the Apevia 998KL sticker case. (Yep, I actually know the model names)

Real life got in the way, so the pics will have to wait till I have enough free time (won't be before next week somewhere).

Dunno where I'll be taking the pics, virtually all my cases are in the attic, but lighting there is pretty poor and I don't think I want to drag all of them down and up again just so I can photograph them 🤣

That has to be an early Inwin, I recognise the same back design used in their other cases. I try to find new cases myself when I get the chance. There’s nothing like re-living the 90's... 😀

If you want you can share a web image link of the same looking cases to save you time.
