All my VLB controllers are without on-board BIOS. I only have standard controllers. But then again I should tested them on more VLB boards. I'm usually more into CPU and video performance 😉

AFAIK you might be able to find drivers if you google the main chip it uses. If there are no DOS drivers then you may have better luck with Win9x. The performance difference between an ISA controller and a VLB one should be substantial.

It should. Do some test and show results. I only test with DOS programs like Checkit, Comptest & SysSpeed.
