I've gotten myself a Pentium III based motherboard from EBay, specifically this one.

It works well as it should, but one problem is that when I tried to install my Sound Blaster Live! in this computer and initialized the drivers, all I could hear was a loud screeching beep when it boots to the desktop. No sound. I've tried everything to swapping different SB Live! cards (CT4760 and CT4780), installing drivers into Safe Mode, disabling ANY traces of onboard audio, and resetting the IRQ settings in BIOS, but to no avail. Keep in mind that both cards HAVE been working perfectly not too long ago. Any suggestions? It would be GREATLY appreciated! 😀

...Nevermind. Just inserted the SB Live into another PCI slot and it finally decides to work. Actually used the very bottom PCI slot at first which I normally do, but for some odd reason it doesn't like it. Can't figure out why, but in any case, it works now. 😀

hmm, I have the same problem, I already purchased a second sound blaster live, but same problem, very loud itchy noise. I am very curious if switching to different PCI slot will solve the problem for me too 😀
