Just got a 3D Prophet II 64MB AGP and was wondering if this would be a better fit for a P3 450mhz. system? Currently running with a Geforce3 Ti200 128mb, some said that was overkill.

Asus P5N-E Intel Core 2 Duo 3.33ghz. 4GB DDR2 Geforce 470 1GB SB X-Fi Titanium 650W XP SP3
Intel SE440BX P3 450 256MB 80GB SSD Radeon 7200 64mb SB 32pnp 350W 98SE
MSI x570 Gaming Pro Carbon Ryzen 3700x 32GB DDR4 Zotac RTX 3070 8GB WD Black 1TB 850W

Well Tomshardware used a Intel Pentium III 866 when they reviewed the card, so they have a point. But that wouldn't make me not use that card. At very high resolutions it's great to have extra power.

Great.

"Overkill" is overrated. You can fit the bottleneck nicely if you plan to do 1280x960+ gaming on the P3 with it, or if that's not possible you could flick on the FSAA x4 in certain games 😀 and the good hardware T&L is very nice to have with a slow CPU.

If you already have a GF3 in and it's working fine, it'd be pointless to downgrade to GF2. It won't be faster.

Prophet II's software bundle really sucks though. Nothing says "Geforce2 GTS" like the Daikatana demo 😜
