I thought it was crazy when I got 1ghz stable at stock voltage. I thought it was crazy when I got 1.1ghz stable at 1.8 volts. Now 1.28ghz out of a 750mhz piii is crazy insane.

Right now I'm trying to get 1.3ghz stable, but I think my ram is holding me back as disabling l2 and l1 dose not help. But this 750mhz slot1 cpu is not a bad over clocker. 170mhz fsb seems to be a road block no matter what I do. Could be the ram or my be6-ii.

The stock oem heatsink and a 120mm delta fan.
I can't even get 171fsb to boot up windows. But 170 is fine.
Still 1.28 is not bad. And 170mhz fsb out a an abit be6-ii with the crappy stock caps.

I'm not sure how stable it is. But I can load Windows without and problems and validate the overclock. 1.11ghz is more then stable. Past super pi 32m at that speed.

yeah whatever, i pushed a celeron-566 to 1.13ghz with stock voltage(1.75v) and passed stresses.
i tested 5 samples, only the best one was stable at stock voltage, 2 needed 1.80v to be stable, and the other 2 were unstable at 1.80v.

There's no need to be a dick.

Yeah the best oc on the 533 is 830mhz on hwbot.
Oddly I hit a wall right about 1.2ghz. Once there I have to ramp of the voltage.
Once I get a network card for the system I'll upload a validation file for it at both 1ghz @ stock voltage and with the best oc I can get out of it.

That's one heck of an overclock 🤣!

of course i did, you just looked at the wrong cpu.
when i said celeron-566 its obviously the coppermine core, not the old mendocino core which was rated at 533mhz max, and the hwbot guyz overclocked them to 1.7ghz. 🤣

Now witch is it mr troll? A 533mhz celly or 566?
The best oc on hwbot for the coppermine 533 is 1169 and the 566 best oc had l2 disable and was on ln2.
And anyway the celly is a very easy cpu to over clock.

a little pity that no one quoted it, right? and to edit without being recorded by forum... whatever you think it is, or to say that everyone can make a little mistake, i am pulling out of this. 😒

I don't really see a problem here. Obviously the 533 Mendocino will be harder to overclock than the 566 Coppermine-based Celeron, so I don't really see any reason why noshutdown would have mentioned the 533 ones (the Mendocino) when Jade Falcon was also talking about overclocking s370 Coppermine-based CPUs.

Damn, 170 mhz FSB is kinda impresive for a BX motherboard. I heard i815 mobos can reach 166 or even higher without problems, but the RAM can still limit though.

i have a P3 750 sample and 4 P3 1000EB (same multi as P3 750) which i wonder how much can OC, all my P3 1000EBs are CD0 stepping which is the last coppermine revision, also i have 3 Tualatin based P3 1400-S which should OC better. i did some maths and if i set a P3 1.4 ghz to FSB 170, it would OC at 1.78 ghz

I heard Tualeron is where the overclocking magic is, mostly because of the relatively low 100MHz FSB, high multiplier and because these chips should be relatively good overclockers anyway.
