Hypothetical situation:

We install two soundcards with EAX support into one machine. For example let us take Audigy and Fortissimo3. Both cards support EAX 2.0, and are installed with default drivers - no modifications, no disabled turned options. There is no driver resource conflict.
Now we start such a game like Half-Life which makes use of EAX 2.0.

The questions are:
1. Which soundcard will be used by the game for EAX effects computing? How to determine it?
2. Is there any way to make a software modifications to use only one card for EAX processing?
3. Do the drivers overlap? Is the installation order important? Do the eax.dll file has hard written sound card reference, so the swap file technique would be useful?

Please stick to question numbers if you can 😀

The sound card which is set as the default playback device will utilize EAX.

I don't think 2 EAX cards overwrite dlls like a3d cards do.
