My system:
LS486e C2
IBM5x86@2x66
2x8MB FPM
Matrox millenium
GUS ACE
SB AWE 64

The system is stable at 133mhz at 3.3v, but my problem is that i need to disable the L2 cache to boot. With the cache enable it hangs at boot. I have tried different cache/memory settings but it wont boot. The L2 cache chips is Magic MG12512-15k and ISSI IS61C256AH-15N, would it help to get some 10ns chips?

With the L2 cache enabled does it post and fully boot at a lower fsb. If it does then your cache chips might be too slow to run properly at the faster speed so maybe 10ns or faster would be a better option.

The only way you really have a chance is to use the absolute slowest timings for your L2 cache. Consider upgrading to 12ns if possible.

After some memory tweaking i can now boot with L2 enabled. But when i run Quake (demo1) i get 17,2 fps with L2 enabled, and 18,3 fps with L2 disabled. Anyone who knows why i get lower score with L2 enabled? Speedsys register the L2, and the scores are about the same as posted on this forum.
