I gave away one month ago my old Asrock P4VM800 motherboard because it freezed randomly at startup and did not always start either. I now regret a bit because I had originally planned to use it as a Windows 98 computer but because of the random freezing, I didn't want to keep it. I did memory tests etc before that too. The good things were that it was mATX and quite fast too. The old Windows 95/98 games that I want to play, mostly work also on Windows XP, so is it worth to try to find a new Asrock P4VM800 or just forget this one?

Probably just needed new capacitors. I think that board even shipped with bad caps... (Nichicon KZG)

There are tons of similar mATX boards out there with the VIA P4M800 chipset, and they all ought to share similar Win98 compatibility... IMO you don't need to find another of this particular one.
