Ive downloaded and tried ESS ES1688 drivers from Vogons Drivers for my MicroSpot MCD-4000 laptop but I get no sound at all. The driver reports the card is already set at I7 D1 T4 with additional setting for MIDI at 330h, this is the same as in BIOS, but I don´t get any sound from it except for the usual noise that´s present on these old cards.

Is it possible that I need some kind of an proprietary driver for this?
