40-07Z5-008031 - this further indicates my point

Copy&Paste error - fixed, thank you!
The board is very damaged, really ugly and goes straight to the bin...

It doesn't look that bad to me, it sure is dirty, but what's so bad about it ?

Yes, this dirt is really ugly. Looks like smoke but doesnt smell. Many small traces destroyed under the battery. Scratches mainly on the bottom side. This isnt worth the effort of cleaning and testing...

This looks very generic and it shouldnt be difficult to find a working one.

80286 BIOS image collection

#18 and #37 are very similar to your board.

Or try one of the images under #61, I would prefer MR-BIOS.

Also some other ICs seems to be missing, cant read the labels on your photo. At least the keyboard controller.

Thank you very much. I will try one of them. Yes, I know some other chip is missing. Two 8259 and the keyboard controller. What do you think, will it work with a keyboard controller from an other 286 motherboard?

This what you are missing:

BIOS firmware in high and low (odd and even) Phoenix firmware version will work.
pair of 8259 IC interrupt controllers. NEC is cooler and reliable.
and finally keyboard controller. Older one is preferred, which is little tricky.

Cheers,

Great Northern aka Canada.

I'm looking for a BIOS to this board, Biostar MB-1500/1575/1590PCT, also known as MBD-P90VP2 in Quantex computers.

The BIOS ID string is 2A5UMB01-00

nCf3mPDt.jpg

I searched thru archive.org and found one reference to the board at Quantex website but Biostar and Bioteq do no list it at all (The 15xxTIC was listed but not the 15xxPCT), not even jumper settings.
When searching for the BIOS found references but no bios file leading me to believe it was on a non flashable EPROM instead of an EEPROM - OR - they never did a bios update.

Motherboard: Amptron DX9200 AKA PcChips M915i
with Fake cache
Chipset: UMC UM8881F + UM8886BF
EPROM: AMD AM27C010
BIOS String: 41-p400-001437-00101111-101094-486AVIP-H
BIOS label: AMI 486DX ISA BIOS 1993
BIOS Version: AMI 10/10/1995: 11-08-1995
CRC 32bit Checksum: 82A4E810

Note: this Fake Cache bios is not same as the M915i BIOS 9151108s floating around.
http://www.win3x.org/uh19/motherboard/show/579
http://www.win3x.org/uh19/motherboard/show/5944
Included the 9151108s BIOS

Sorry if this is a stupid question but I am learning still. I have ended up with one of these boards with the fake cache on it. I plan to remove the fake cache and put some real stuff on it along with the jumpers to configure it. If I do this can I then put the bios on the unit from the links you have posted to make it work properly ?

No not that I know of, that BIOS was written specific for that FAKE cache board model and version so it appears to have cache. You need the BIOS off one that has working cache. Cannot find the exact topic but there is a good discussion about adding cache and what bios to use where members tried different BIOS releases and which ones worked.

I got it without BIOS+KBD-controller. But it works with..:

http://www.minuszerodegrees.net/at_clone_bios … _clone_bios.htm

- MRBIOS V018B401, found here:
How about a MR-BIOS ROM file repository?

Both need to be split in HI/LO, attached in file.

Wow 16-30pin simm sockets ! Nice and has cache too. Closest I seen personally is a Vtech/PcPartner 486 board with 12-30 pin simm sockets and cache.
Thanks !

I'm looking for a BIOS for a newer, but uncommon board! Well, the board itself is kinda generic, but the BIOS on a variant from Creative Labs (Yes, that Creative, from the SoundBlaster cards) is impossible to find!

The board I want a BIOS from is a Creative Labs M000, basically a Shuttle HOT-637 but with a BIOS customized by Creative!

Anyone has one that is willing to dump it?

Thanks, indeed a very nice board from a scrap lot and I am happy its running again! It reports some problems with the cache but I assume one IC is still missing there.

Hello.

My name is José Domingo, I live in the Canary Islands.
I recently purchased an Acer 915V 286. He displayed inconsistent characters at startup. But I was still able to launch it and run a game from the flogged disk. I thought the problem with inconsistent characters was because of the BIOS. Today I removed the eprom to back up with my MINIPRO TL866. My surprise was that my MINIPRO does not read them, but worse was that now my PC does not start.

Would anyone be so kind as to provide me with a copy of the high and low bios?

I would be very grateful for any help.
Best regards.

I know that a member of this forum has an ACER 915P and uses the same BIOS, RETROSPECTOR78.

I would be very grateful for any help.
Best regards.
