I tried to install a hd floppy controller to my XT computer floppy drives works and having the controller installed the computer keeps saying 601.

The floppy acts normal, turns on light/tries to read when entering A:, but its like it cant work properly because of the 601 error, i also have no way to turn off the onboard floppy controller, any ides?
