Exactly.

Default assumption of an SB-compatible solution would be A220 I5 D1 P330, so try setting the AWE32 to A240 I7 (or 3) D0 (or 3), H5 (or 6) P300 or so.

Cool, I have the programmer ordered, so it'll be a while before I get to trying this out. Thanks!

@dionb

Thanks for the heads up on that programmer! It arrived and I have successfully flashed the SPAX BIOS chip with the modified SP97-XV BIOS by Jan Steunebrink and the board is now resurrected~

Next up is finding a power supply I can use and hopefully a case for this looong board to fit in.

Then I'll start working out the problems.

Thanks again!

Edit:
So uh, I installed the SP97-XV BIOS and it has a bunch of IRQ and DMA reservations that I can force onto the ISA bus making them unavailable to the built in Crystal PCI sound card. And suddenly, Sound Blaster AWE32 working perfectly~

That wasn't difficult at all~ (other than bricking the board and buying the programmer... it was just more money than I thought the project would cost 😅)
