I wonder if possible. I have nice XT, but it is limited for software. If I would put one of those 486 single board card in it, will the computer work as 486?
Or maybe it is separate computer on card, but will it use rest of computer equipment, like keyboard, gfx card? I don't understand, what is the point of those cards.

SBC's only work in backplanes, you cant stick one in a standard motherboard.

There were a few "upgrade" SBCs that were intended for motherboards such as the PowerLeap Renaissance. But they don't actually use the ISA bus and none of your expansion cards will work.
