So… I bought this Voodoo 2 card - Creative Labs 3D Blaster Voodoo 2 (CT-6670) on auction… I payed around 20 USD (in Polish money)… I knew it has this defect and general condition is unknown (still is, beside this defect).

As you can see in the picture above few of the chip legs are bent and riped off from the pads. Legs are not broken (just bent) and pads are OK (I inspected them using looking glass). I have SMD soldering station and hotair station, but I think this repair is beyond my skill so I won't try - I work with bigger elements)…

What do you guys think?

I've repaired conditions very similar to this. I just use a needle point tip for my soldering iron and thin solder. I used a scalpel to straighten the pins. A greater concern might be if someone left this cared powered up with pins shorting out. Possible damage to the internals of the chip?

I straightened them up abit using thin injection needle, but my hands are not that steady so I will leave it to a specialist (I have hotair smd rework station and looking glass for this type of work, just my skills are not good enough). I guess this dammage was done when the card was in storage of some sort... so first the electrical repair and then testing…
