You can use the top part of the RAM as RAMDISK with XMSDSK utility.
In your case, it would be a 16MB ramdisk.
I have 256MB of ram in my MMX build, of which 192MB is allocated to a ramdisk.

Can you relocate the swap file to that ramdisk? 🤣

You will need Win95 OSR 2 or later build with proper support for MMX, or you may encounter BSOD if software/games try to use it with OS knowing nothing how to handle it.

interesting i run Windows 95A and never encountered this issue.

What games do crash ?

i am prob a noob here or a dumb question, what is the benefits of a ramdisk (other than faster transfers speed)

That's pretty much it - faster speed and lower latency.

The point is, you can have more than 64MB of ram without getting a performance hit because everything over 64MB is not cached.

When setting up a ram disk - does the software for that actually know what range of the memory is cached, or do you risk that the cached portion is made to a ram disk?

Anyways, I would suspect uncached ram to be faster than mechanical hard disks, nevertheless ..

Please use the "quote" option if asking questions to what I write - it will really up the chances of me noticing 😀

XMSDSK has -t parameter to put it's memory range on the top.

The second one. With soldered Q1 and U27 bits. Macro photo if possible.
