OK, kernel logging was simply disabled, so I had to click on the icon, that was all that was missing.

OK and it's much as I expected. I suspect the HP software was active when you did this and if the HP software is inactive is the retry rate lower?

file.php?id=78525

  1. When act starts with 3x this is some other entity reading the DIMM temperature and the first 4 are when SIV is reading the SPD data.
  2. When act starts with E8 this is some other entity switching the PCA9544 mux
  3. When act starts with C8 this is some other entity accessing salve 0x60 memory buffer
  4. When act starts with C9 this is some other entity accessing salve 0x61 memory buffer

It would be interesting to get a driver log when all the HP software is inactive to see if any of the above go away.

I am also wondering if the HP software uses any locks. From Menu->Windows->Processes Right/Click on the PID button and select Locks to find out. Attached is what I just got for SIV64X so you know what to expect.

Thank you, I was hoping that the HP services might use a different lock to interlock SMBus success, but they do not seem to.

There are still collisions with all the services stopped and I am running out of ideas as to what could be doing this and wondering if it might be the HP ProLiant iLO 3 Management Controllers. I guess these are built into the motherboard, are they? Is there a BIOS setup option to disable them?

Update: I wonder if it's the Microsoft Generic IPMI Compliant Device, can this be disabled in the BIOS and if not do the retries stop when you use Device Manager to disable the device?

Hello

Is it possible if you could add in a vendor logo for BFG cards.

NNH9pIh.png

The Tuala-Bus (My 9x/Dos Rig) (Pentium III-S 1.4ghz, AWE64G+Audigy 2 ZS, Voodoo5 5500, Chieftec Dragon Rambus)

The Final Lan Party (My Windows Xp/7 rig) (Core i7 980x, GTX 480,DFI Lanparty UT X58-T3eH8,)

Yes, I could add the BFG logo if I knew the BFG vendor ID, but there seem to be two of them. I have 19F1=BFG Tech + 00F5=BFG Technologies in PCIDEVS.txt and am unsure which to use.

Please post Menu->Machine->GPU Info and [ PCI Bus ] so I can be sure I use the correct one and it would also be good if you posted the logo you feel I should use.

Edit: I guessed at 19F1, how does the attached SIV32L 5.47 Logo-04 test SIV look? If the logo is not on [ GPU Info ] also check the [ PCI Bus ] details panel, probably [ n - 00 - 0 ].

Good, I suspected it would. I wonder, why are you not using the latest GeForce 342.01 Driver?

I spotted the ITE IT8686 + IT8733 SIO voltages are slightly off. I can adjust this, but as there are two SIO sensors it would be easier if you posted or PMed me the two Menu->File->Save Local files so I can test the changes.

Update: I made some changes so please try the attached SIV32X 5.47 B450-04 test SIV, it should be better, but I will need the save files to further improve it.

I attached SIV32X.exe rather than SIV32L.exe as it's a Unicode rather than ASCII build so is a better choice for Windows XP and later.

Using that driver because it was on a disc that went to a 660 ti I used to have and I figured it'd be better for compat purposes with older software.

Here's the two files you requested.

Thank you, when I checked and the test SIV was pretty close. All the voltages now look to be correct, but I have changed a couple of the names so once I release 5.47 Beta-04 update to that.

I would expect later NVidia drivers in general to work better then older ones, but I guess "if it's ain't broke don't fix it". In terms of SIV support in general the later the driver the more SIV will report as such NVAPI functions as NvAPI_GPU_GetRasterBackendCount(), which reports the number of ROPs, are only available in later drivers.

Update: I have just released SIV 5.47 Beta-04 and attached the .ZIPs to SIV support for 386/486/586 class + Alpha CPUs and 3dfx + S3 + SiS + Matrox + XGI + old ATI + NVidia GPUs - Testing Help

Used the version you supplied in the PM. It actually worked. Here's the report:

EDIT: A few weird things I noticed: 1) The Pentium Overdrive MMX is a Tillamook (is it?). 2) It mentions 3DFX Voodooo 1 and an adaptec SCSI Card that weren't installed at the moment. The Voodoo was installed at some point, but it was already removed by the time I ran SIV. The SCSI card was at some point plugged in, but I didn't ever use it.

Thank you for checking things out and the new 430FX code worked as I hoped.

  1. I can't remember why decided this as it's been like this since 29-Oct-2002, but after checking https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/P5_(micro ... #Tillamook I think it should just be P55C so will adjust this for the next beta.
  2. Where does it mention this? At a guess it's on [PCI Dev] + [ALL Dev] as they list devices that have ever been installed, to get a list of the PCI devices that are currently present check [PCI Bus].

No and even if I had it would not help. It's far less effort to run SIV and quickly look if the information SIV reports for your system is correct. Things to check are:

  1. Are the memory timings reported and correct (typically tCL+tRCD+tRP+tRAS+tRFC).
  2. Is the CPU information correct.
  3. Are all the GPUs reported and is the information correct.
  4. Are the SIO sensors reported with the correct values and appropriate names.
  5. Is the DIMM SPD reported (NT/2K/XP and later).

Hi Ray,
Boring Easter sunday 😁
OK, tried the latest beta of SIV with one of my HP DL585 G6.

I would say it's close to perfect, DIMM info is missing, because the SMBUS could not be read out. That was expected, I would say 😀

So I came across something kinda weird but it triggered my OCD

So on older MSI board's in the machine tab, it shows the MSI logo

Mgz4jqZ.png

But on a newer board like the Z390 Ace, it doesn't show one.

zIzLcwd.png

Would it be possible to re implement that logo on the newer boards?

Thank you for your post , obviously yes and I wonder why it's not already there. At a guess it's down to MICRO-STAR vs. Micro-Star, either way the easy option is for you to post the two save files from the Z390 board so I can figure out why it's absent.
