There have been several threads where case badges have been mentioned. I would like to make a dedicated thread where people can put their custom made case badges for others to download/print/make. So here we go!

Making Case Badges:
The easiest way is to print on 1x1" photo sticker paper. Inkjet or LaserJet works, just be sure to wait for dry time with InkJet. Choose the right paper for your printer. You can use generic full sheet sticker paper for odd size stickers as well.
Product example, Microsoft Word template included: https://www.sheetlabels.com/labels/SL596

Alternatively, you can also print on 1x1" crystal clear sticker paper (same link above) and stick it to the metallic duct tape (not regular duct tape), then cut out the 1x1" square to have a metallic looking sticker.
Product example: https://www.amazon.com/Aluminum-Professional- … 76247594&sr=8-1

Then, place a 1x1" dome resin sticker over it, if desired. (other sizes available from various sellers)
Product example: https://www.etsy.com/listing/672751599/1-inch … fBoC6qsQAvD_BwE

If you want to protect the sticker without a dome, you can use clear sticker laminate.
Product example: https://www.amazon.com/Avery-Self-Adhesive-La … e/dp/B00007E7D2

--------------------------------

Watch this 8-bit Guy video for some ideas: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pYeIr1fPHHU -- he also uses a label maker with clear tape for smaller black & white labels.

--------------------------------

When making badges, I try to do 1x1" or 2x2" at 300dpi in Photoshop. Keep in mind white areas will print clear when using clear sticker paper. This can be useful for metallic badges, where you want the brushed metal look to be under the logo. There are tons of free fonts available online, so just install them on your computer and experiment.

As far as getting logos, try to find high resolution PNG or SVG images using google image searches. I have amassed a huge collection of high quality images of dozens of brands of retro stuff. If you are looking for a logo, ask and I might have it. Some I have re-created from scratch, some I have used a vectorizing program to duplicate a lower quality image. You can also help out by taking a high quality close photo (no reflections) of existing case badges and logos so we can duplicate them if no images exist online.

Some examples of case badge art I made:

Thank you for posting this!

I always wondered how they did these back in the day.

I have a few beige boxes with random badges from the different distributers and computer shops. The resin dome is a nice touch. Please post pics when you can of how the dome looks, would be curious to see, particularly against some of the remakes you see on eBay.

Not sure if any of these guys do custom work, but this kinda stuff drives me nuts with all the cutting and getting the right angles correct

I have been getting case badges printed for my cases for a while now:

Here are the images I used so far, in a zip file. There are several sticker images in there you may find interesting.

@wiretap: I can't access any of the images you posted above..

Any chance you could zip and attach them to a post?

They are hosted on Imgur. Do you have a firewall or ad blocker that is preventing viewing them? I'm at work now, so I'll have to Zip this evening or weekend.

A few more badges for tonight, and a zip file for Appiah4. The ZIP contains all the badges I posted so far.

I duplicated the gray MS-DOS badge 😀

I haven't seen one that says that, but I do have Accelerated by S3 Graphics "Chrome". Post a picture of the one you're talking about. I may be able to duplicate it. Here's the S3 Chrome one I have..

As I mentioned before, thanks to Vogons members KCompRoom2000 & Thallanor for all their work on the Pentium Pro case badges which you'll find here:

Re: The great Pentium Pro haul of 2018 (make sure to check this post and the one right below it for the vector version)

The end results were excellent. Original on the left.

Some Cyrix logos.. I finally found the right font for the numbers. It is called "Slipstream", however I could only find it in Italic, so I had to transform skew it in Photoshop to make it look as close as I could get it to the original font. Still not 100%, but looks pretty good.
