there are some floating around, but they're for the pantera or some other 486 board.. this particular VLB model looks to be fairly common, but I can't seem to find a manual for it. Trying to figure out how to disable the onboard FDD/HDD controller

incidentally, it has a few gremlins i have to troubleshoot... SIMM BANK 1 doesn't seem to work at all (2-3-4 do recognize modules), and BANK4 heats up the ram chips to a point where it's much too hot to touch with your finger. Sigh.

I cannot see enough of the board to figure out which model it is. There should be a number silk screened on the board in either XXxxxxXX or xxx-xxxx-xx format (I have a Zeos 386 with XXxxxxXX format on back of board). I attached a TXT file that lists a few of the 486, maybe it will help you figure out which one you have from the BIOS string if you cannot see the model number.

Hate posting a reply and then have to edit it because it made no sense 😁 First computer was an IBM 3270 workstation with CGA monitor. Stuff: https://archive.org/details/@horun
