http://www.vogonsdrivers.com My issues are with this page. It was uploaded by Robin4 and I'm hoping he/she will respond to this post. On the page is a single picture containing views of 11 different game controllers. Upon reading the entire page you find descriptions of all or most of the 11 controllers. At the bottom of the page is a single zip file. When I downloaded the zip file I thought I was downloading all of the described drivers. Unfortunately that seems not to be the case. The file structure of the unpacked zip file is simply a long list of files and a few folders. I was expecting individual drivers. There are two executable files. One is SETUP.EXE and the other is _SETUP.EXE. They both load the same driver. It's the one for the FF steering wheel. As it happens, that driver is one that I want but I also want the driver for the NON FF wheel and I can find no way to to install it or anything else. There are no instructions or "read me" files on the site page or in the zip file. I hope somebody can help. Thanks.

For the older non-USB stuff, you need version 3 of the software. The software on vogonsdrivers.com is version 4 and also not the generic one. I wasted some hours when I started testing my MS Sidewinder controllers as well.

Try searching for "SWGameEN.exe".

I'm aware of the different driver requirements. My hardware is all USB compliant. The search you suggested yielded several hits but nothing downloadable.

7 MB (for use with Windows 95 and/or Windows 98)

This file won't install on my computer. An error message says it can't find a file called "_SETUP.EXE". Also, this is version 3 which I cannot use.

(Wow, it's incredible how much crap these so called "download driver sites" try to plant on us with their download helper tools... What a despicable business model!)

However, I think I found what you were looking for (USB Sidewinder Wheel - NON FF version).
Please also find the zipped ReadMe file attached prior downloading, to ensure that this driver really fits your needs.
Download: https://www.creopard.de/download/detail/sidew … r_4-0_cd/52.htm (18.3 MB)

The setup program is multilanguage and starts nicely on my Windows 98 test VM.

(Since this driver is quite rare these days, I'm archiving it now along with version 3.02 for non USB game controllers.
It seems to be a backup of the original driver CD with Directx included.)
