Hello,

I have two BIOSes for my GA-7IXE
- BIOS F3, with memory bypass option present, but hard drive limited to X < 75GB
- BIOS F7, without memory bypass option, and hard drive limit == 75GB (and other cool stuff like CPU speed on startup screen)

Those are ami bioses.
My question is, how do I get them to make a child with bypass option AND 75GB HDD limit ?
(not interested in the degenerate child with no bypass and small HDD limit)
I'm kinda fond of raptor hard drives and 74gb sounds better than 36.

Is there an easy tool to make that happen, or do I have to compare hex stuff until I find the flag for memory bypass to activate in F7, bricking 10 motherboards on the way ? (Have only two of those, don't even know what BIOS version the second one is on)

I don't even know if this is possible.

I'd honestly go for BIOS revision F7, and see if there's a "Fast boot" option. I know on Award BIOSes, Fast Boot (or Quick boot, or whatever it's called) only runs through the memory check once.

Hello,

fast boot option is possible with both BIOSes.
Memory bypass, aka super bypass, is a AMD750 chipset option for later revisions of the chipset that improves memory performance of slot A athlon systems by bypassing some stuff.
It brings up to 10-15% performance.
