Guys

I am going mad. 1am here and still no solution:

My above nw card jumperless won’t work on irq10. I set up via msclient Setup to 10 (adress 300) but then it won’t work meaning no network connect. MSD shows it on irq10 (ms2000). But it simply won’t connect.

When changing it back to Irq2 it connects flawless. MSD also shows it correctly at irq2.
IRQ10 is not being used by sth else see screenshot. Any idea? I already disabled com2 just in case in needs to stay there.

Ps. I’m using smartbootmanager but that’s irrelevant I assume. Pc is 486dx/2 66 vlb with award bios

Many thanks

When changing it back to Irq4 it connects flawless. MSD also shows it correctly at irq4.

Com2 uses IRQ3. If you set it to IRQ4 that be COM1 (unless you set com's at non-standard ports). Some ISA boards do not like any communication device on any high IRQ. Have you tried IRQ3 on the nick ?

Hate posting a reply and then have to edit it because it made no sense 😁 First computer was an IBM 3270 workstation with CGA monitor. Stuff: https://archive.org/details/@horun

Sorry I mixed it up. It uses irq3 - there it works flawless as written but I’m unable to set it to 10

Maybe a cascade problem? Hm..

Issue solved:
The real IRQ setting you can only change in the um9008F config.exe - where he is writing the new Irq to the eeprom.

Thanks to all
