Hello,

Long time lurker here, and first post 😀

I was looking to buy this graphics card, the seller states that it should be working (no proof, however).
To combine with my Asrock 4Core Dual Sata2 board.
I have never before seen an 7600 GT AGP card without a molex 4 pin/pci-e external power connector.
It does have a HSI bridge chip under the heatsink.
What's up with this card?
Is this a dummy card?

It's a video card without external power connector.

Is this a dummy card?

From quick google search, it is legit Club 3D 7600GT card.

Thanks for your reply!
I had also found several different Club3d cards with the same P/N as this card.
Some with a different cooler, some with a different layout (pcb), some with a seperate heatsink for the HSI bridge, and some with a power connector.

I was just really curious "how is this possible" ?
How can this card with it's HSI bridge get all it's power from the AGP slot alone?
Where (all???) other 7600 GT's have an external power connector.
And is this perhaps a low performance 7600 GT because of that?

No idea. Maybe it's just downclocked or voltage is lowered enough to fit into AGP spec.
AGP had powerhogs like GeForce 4 Ti 4600 and even Medion Radeon 9800XL without requirement for additional power. So it's reasonable to assume that 7600GT could fit in there too. Some low-tier manufacturers like Palit also made GeForce 6600 without external power. It's hardly a good thing though, because most manufacturers had decided to play it safe and not abuse AGP port spec with edge case scenarios after GeForce 4 Ti.

Yours seems like a slightly later revision (R12 v R11), maybe just with an uprated cooler.

I found that one online also, sure looks like the same PCB and layout!

What was your experience with that card and it's performance?
Which board did you use it with?

I checked on Tech Powerup and their only showing the card at 40 watts so it really shouldn't need supplemental power.

Think it may well have been the last AGP nv card I bought new (2007ish?) as I was more into ATI at the time and was also moving towards Intel Core + PCI Express for my systems.

Used it on a couple of boards for a while - a Gigabyte 8IPE1000MK and an Asus P4V800-X. Performance-wise it was probably a bit behind my X850 series cards but had newer tech / features.
