Hi there all,

I have a compaq lte 4/50cx and I'm having a bugger a time getting the PCMCIA => CF adapter working.

I have Dos6/Win3.1 installed.

I tried ATAENAB.exe driver. Still didn't work (no device detected).

If anyone has any solutions or suggestions on what I need to get the PCMCIA recognized and working, I would appreciate it.

Does anyone recall what drivers are required to get it up and running.

(the floppy drive is dead on this laptop and there are no usb slots so I was originally planning to use the CF adapter to transfer files).

On another note, I installed Laplink5 and I forgot how great/powerful it was. It can remote install itself and after testing, it works GREAT to transfer files. I'd still like to get the PCMCIA=>CF working so if anyone has any ideas. .. Greatly appreciated.

Did you try to find Compaq PCMCIA drivers online? I never owned one, but I suppose they should be available.
ATAENAB usually worked for me, but AFAIR I had to bypass config.sys and autoexec.bat.
You may also try universal Cardsoft drivers.

I managed to get the PCMCIA slot working in the end

ATAENAB did work in dos

Installed Windows 95 and that has the correct drivers to detect and load PCMCIA

Forgot to report your solution to get this working in DOS. I have LTE ELITE 4/75 too that I wanted to use PCMCIA CF adapter working.

Cheers,

Hi there. I did get it working recently and posted the solution in the Compaq LTE image thread. My solution/post is on page 2 and details the config.sys modifications and files that will be required.

Tested and working with PCMCIA=> CF and 16bit PCMCIA sound card on Compaq LTE Elite 4/50cx (dos 6.22/win31)
