Hi just a quick question,

upgrading a EGPU Nvidia card, all the newer cards seem to use a 5v (Red) cable from Molex to Video card in stead of the usual 6 wire 12V Yellow / Black Combo

Checking first so a don't put 12v where 12v don't supposed to go or are they interchangeable??

I Like Charity Shops, they're like steam and GOG but cheaper.

The point of those types of molex connectors is that they can't be plugged into the wrong socket because the square and rounded pin shields won't match up... in theory.. so I would make the assumption that if it plugs into the connector, it should work... Really I'd just use it to confirm a no-go before doing more research. i.e. if it doesn't fit you definitely need the redwire version... if it does fit it looks promising but you're gonna have to pull tech docs to confirm, because sometimes Tech companies be like "Screw standards"

Unicorn herding operations are proceeding, but all the totes of hens teeth and barrels of rocking horse poop give them plenty of hiding spots.

Thanks,

can't find a straight answer anywhere. red looks like it's on the Negative, Usual Molex is the 2 negatives are in the middle with 12 and 5 v each side.

if so, why use the red cable and throw the schematics out???
