I have been messing around with my newly acquired Tandy 1000a and have what I thought would be a simple problem. The secondary 5.25" floppy drive is not recognized. During post it appears to initialize, the in-use light comes on and the drive spins, but once at a DOS prompt the drive is not detected. Both drives are TEAC FD-54B-02-U models. The primary drive is "jumpered" D0 and the secondary is "jumpered D1". They both have jumper IU closed. I have checked config.sys and the only thing contained therein is device=vdisk.sys. I have poured over quite a few online resources looking for the answer, but I would appreciate any input. I have not yet tried to swap drives but will do so. I would have done so already, but I have to locate the right socket to fit the fasteners and one of them is a little hard to get to. Thanks in advance.
