My first computer was an IBM Aptiva with P75 and it ran DOS + Windows 3.1. It had an unlimited supply of games thanks to Klik & Play – in addition to its library of mediocre-at-best ready-made samples, I made a zillion horrible games on it myself.

Add to that the countless hours spent with Paintbrush, Paint Shop Pro, a couple of MIDI composing programs whose names elude me, MS Publisher, even Visual Basic 3.0, ... Oh, the memories! Letting that machine go is one of my biggest regrets in life.

Into the eyes of nature, into the arms of God, into the mouth of indifference, into the eyes of nature...

Honestly, I had a am386dx-40 running Windows 95 , it wasn’t fast, but also wasn’t slow for some reason, but maybe not very period correct.

When I’m looking at a P75, windows 95 makes perfectly sense, sure, the CPU was released on October 10, 1994. But back then it was brand new and costed a fortune. 10 months later, windows 95 was released, so it is very plausible that P75’s were sold a year later with windows 95 and purchased by the average joe.
I mean, your budget option back then was probably a Am486DX4-100, which was released just a month earlier than the P75 and the P133 was released on June 1, 1995, before windows 95 was released and the P150 still had to be released (Jan 4, 1996) when Windows 95 just was available for a few months.

So long story short: a P75 with Win95 would be very period correct. Having that said, it’s also correct having Win 3.11 on a P133 😉

Oh and by the way, you can always use the option to install win95 with the win3.11 gui, it’s a standard option during installation, if you would like to ga funky. Thinking about it, I’ve never done it, maybe I should…

Edit: apparently you can also accomplish that after installation by running “progman” or change your gui from explorer to progman:
