This machine is:
Mobo: Asus P2B (PCB 1.12)
CPU: Pentium 3 800Mhz overclocked to 895Mhz (works the same with or without overclock, 112FSB), yes yes, slocket1 😉
GPU: GeForce 4 4200Ti 64MB Leadtek
Sound Card: Aztek Sound Galaxy Pro16III-3D PNP (was ESS1868 but started to freak out)
PSU: as for now Tracer 4Life (very soon I'll replace with Fortron 350W)

The thing is, when I started I couldn't even install win98SE, black screen, replacing PSU to PCI temporarily and replace to GF4 fixed it, next drivers and what not, unofficial SP2.3b for Polish version that fixed problem with stuttering mouse after turning off a game or anything that runs fullscreen.

Now only one problem persists, resolution 800x600 is glitching for DX6/7 and OpenGL while 640x480 and 1024x768 work great in games, is my GPU dying or what? (other GF4 with 128MB RAM) But in different machine under winXP everything is ok with that card so I am confused.

Other thing, I don't know, is VRAM very important? I mean, for me build with 16MB or SLI 16MB is for me great because two other machines have Voodoo 3 3500TV and 2xV2 12MB for glide but still I am uncertain with two things:
1. Will I see a difference if 'I'll sell my liver' xD for Voodoo 4 or 5 (6 is out of reach for me and I heard super finicky/problematic for games)
2. Does 'the more the better' apply with DirectX and OpenGL?

Or maybe I should change GPU for good old Voodoo 3 2000 or V3 3000? 😁

Well your questions is quite confusing. Issue with p2b might be because overclock , did you tried doing those things at stock speeds ?.As for videocard vram is matters but it depends what you want to play. And issues might be driver you are using or directX . It's many unknown unfortunately.

DOS: 166mmx/16mb/Y719/S3virge

Win98: P3_900/256mb/SB live/3dfx V3
Win Me: Athlon 1700+/512mb/Audigy2/Geforce 3Ti200
Win XP: E8600/4096mb/SB X-fi/HD6850

Well, I just wrote with or without overclock this machine behaves the same. But one thing changed, I replaced that bad PSU with Fortron 350W and overall stability got better and no more 5V rail error. So I guess that changed for better. And I had power issue due to overvolted P3 from 1.75V to 2V.

Overclocked FSB 112MHz causes overclocked AGP 75 MHz on Intel 440BX chipset. It might be an issue.

AGP is "hard coded" to the FSB. As soon as you set the FSB to more then 100Mhz your overclocking the AGP. GF4 Ti should be ok with this but you never know.

What graphics card driver version are you using? Newer ones can cause problems for Win98 something around v45.23 are a safe bet.

In DirectX the Voodoo 5 struggles to keep up with a GeForce 2 so your GF4 Ti is so your much faster at far less cost

I'm using v56.55 because I just had these. If adviced I will reinstal to older ones. 😀

Also, can I emulatie glide on GF4?

I always wanted Voodoo 4 or 5 but prices kill. Shame V3s don't support 32bit color.
