from what i've searched i think this is the orginal All in Wonder Pro, but IC Layout/memory layout doesnt seem to match. uses the Rage Pro Turbo AGP (but over a PCI Interface)

"All-in-Wonder Pro" - as far as I know that's 2nd model in the series - the only previous one was based on "3D Rage II" called just "All-in-Wonder".

Agreed. The bios chip reads "AIWPR" and it has a PCI bus, so it seems like an easy leap to call it an "All-In-Wonder Pro PCI".

109-41500-00 was the 1997 version of the "All-In-Wonder Pro PCI" with SGRAM
109-52300-10 was the 1998 version of the "All-In-Wonder Pro PCI" that had SDRAM.

I suspect 109-41500-10 may have been a 1998 cost reduced OEM rev of the 1997 "41500" all in wonder but with slower ram.

Can anyone verify what type of memory the Toshiba tc59g1631af8-10 chips were? Looks like SDRAM but I'm not sure.

They are SGRAM.

Last night i got to putting this in a machine of mine, and its been a headache i dont know if its the card or just how hectic it was to grab drivers for it even then.

i for the life of me cant seem to get the Correct drivers despite what will install, appears to be working in device manager.. but in the Capture program i was planning on using (DScaler), cannot communicate with the TV Hardware within it. Nor can i get ATI MMC to install. and versions i've seen suggested to install (6.2/7.8/9.2) i cannot for the life of me find at all or only for XP despite there should be versions of these for 98.

Don't think any version of MMC supports any chip older than the Rage 128.

For the Rage Pro under W98, try...

*Software MPEG-1 and AVI Player, with TV Tuner and Capture Support

This player supports:

Windows 98 AND Windows 95
Rage PRO, Rage LT PRO, Rage IIc and Rage II / II+ products

This Player requires:

ATI display driver build 4.11.2560 or 4.11.2548 or 4.10.2440 or 4.10.2420, depending on the graphics adapter used
DirectX version 5.0 or higher (we recommend DirectX 6)
Install the display driver FIRST

Known Problems:

Motion video capture duration limited to approximately 30 minutes with VCR2 CODEC (only affects configurations which include Tuner/Capture hardware, such

as ATI-TV or All-in-Wonder/All-in-Wonder PRO)
No TV or Capture buttons, ATI-TVfm ISA (only affects tuners with FM capability, running WIN95 version 950B)

I think that DScaler was mainly focused on the popular BT878 and some Philips chips if my memory doesnt fail. I had very good results with DScaler even on Win7 with the BT878 based tuners.
My best experiences capturing video under Win9X were with Windows movie Maker, I used WinMe for a few years because Movie Maker came with WinMe and I didnt have internet at home back them. In Win XP, Virtualdub was very good, easy and free.
Maybe you can try Virtualdub https://www.virtualdub.org/

unless its because its not the Primary Video card, (i have a AGP based card in there) the driver installer mangled the primary card's driver and the download for the Video player wont install "No ATI mach64 hardware found, aborting~!"

Hmm, odd given that the files I linked are the then recommended ones by ATi... https://web.archive.org/web/20001018092713/ht … wpro_win98.html

There is an earlier Display Driver (4.11.2548)...https://web.archive.org/web/20010813152311/ht … rs/w82548en.exe

...and a later Video Player (5.3.0005)...https://web.archive.org/web/20010813153725/ht … rs/w8pl53en.exe ...which are also compatible with the above, but can't imagine that will solve things.

Card is definitely a 'Built by ATi' Rage Pro rather than an AIB partner one (confirmed by the 4150x number on the BIOS & the 102x P/N number on the tuner label) so can't be some weird OEM driver version issue.

Which AGP card are you using...do you have any others you could try, or also try AGP-less with just the AIW (these would all be best done now as clean W98 installs)

i'll give it a shot in a lil bit but the card? an Geforce MX4 4000. i know ATI's latest MMC for the card will not install, if its not the Primary graphics Adapter. i wonder if thats the issue im facing now.
