3D Realms will show this in their U.S. Press tour this weekend I suppose. They're working on this few and a bit mouths, should be high-end gameplay and Quake quality. Thehy hired most of the Quake lords to make it. so is so promising!!!!

Said shooter uses Darkplaces* (OpenGL2+/D3D9/D3D10+). Darkplaces does not work on the Voodoo2 anymore (and it hasn't in over 12 years).

Fred still hasn't learned from past PR blunders. That photo is just a dorky "REMEMBER THIS? HERES A REAL SAVE ICON REMEMBER THOSE?" and does not indicate an actual Glide-supporting game at all, but you can bet this misleading pr angle is going to be pushed more to win over the retro kids' interest. Maybe my postprocess code would get misappropriated somewhere later on...

On the bright side, there is actual mapping talent on the project....

* i've seen early gifs posted of this unannounced game and it's very identifiably post-2009 darkplaces

I'm not surprised, they made "Ion Maiden" using the Build engine and then compiled it in 64bits only, they don't care about compatibility with old hardware.

I was looking into this and found a quote from one of the developers on Steam’s forums:

“While our engine supports 32-bit, the executable uses some work-around that anti-virus find suspicious, thus we don't ship it.” -https://steamcommunity.com/app/562860/discuss … 355067078280130

Check out DOSBox Distro:

a lightweight Linux distro (tinycore) which boots off a usb flash drive and goes straight to DOSBox.
