Is there any criterias for beating a game ??

I used to hang at the shmup forum, in the shmup scene you cannot brag of beating a game if you used a continue.
You need to use you first 3 lives only. Otherwise you simply
"played through it"

What about pc games hmmm...
Since alot of games allow you to save and load at will it is easy to abuse it in hard parts, i for myself have abused it on some occasions, *caugh... total war.
When you finish a game in this circumstance, did you really beat it?

When i was a hardcore doom player i would start at the very beginning and allow myself only 1 life. At ultra violence i would beat first and second episode without dying, would usualy die in third episode though. So i guess my list of "beaten game " is relative.

Beaten\Finished game in this thread means that you played it from beginning until the very end when you see the credit screen.

Not the crazy meaning where you've got every dechievement or any other criteria you set for yourself.

Deus Ex: Human Revolution

Very good game.

Did have some issues tho:

HUD would periodically act like it was in 640x480 res instead of matching the actual screen res.
Sometimes when movies would play the game would freeze up.
Slowdown issues sometimes but reloading fixes that.

Other than those issues the game is great.

Took 21 hours.

Haven't beaten Morrowind yet/ probably don't plan too. Too long and drawn out plus I wasn't too fond of needing taking 8 swings of an axe on a mudcrab and having only 2 hit.

can't come up with a full list at the moment, but I have to admit that I've actually beaten SHAMUS.

that must place me in a, uhm, "special" category (and not necessarily the good kind).

The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim

I beat the game being level 50 (I think that the maximum level cap)

*** SPOILERS BELOW ***

I found the final boss to be pretty dissapointing and little challenging as well as most dragons in general. I would have expected for Alduin to use a variety of shouts to fool its attackers but no, he didn't.

PS . have we got an spoiler feature here? How can one hide text?

Interstate 76
Dune 2000
C&C
AVP2 (all 3 campaigns)
Unreal (all difficulty settings)
Unreal II
Guild Wars (main campaign)
